Hi! I have a question about your wavy/curly hair vid! How did you not get an oily scalp from putting product on your roots and sleeping on it damp because I’ve tried things like sleeping on damp hair up in certain positions to have an easy morning and I’ve always ended up with build up or just a feeling of an oily scalp? Do you have his issue too?

Maddy Brown hey I watched her video too! My hair used to be super oily when I left it more than a day. I have wavy hair myself which I’ve been trying to take care of better. Personally I have to wash my hair every 2 days rather than her 4+ as my hair type gets oily quicker. What I’ve done to reduce oiliness and buildup is to cut out hair products with silicones and sulfates. Silicones basically coat your hair like a raincoat, which means all the moisture - and oil is left to build up on the outside of the hair strands. Sulfates, especially Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, can really strip every bit of oil off your scalp which actually makes your scalp freak out and produced even MORE oil! Basically what I do is based off something called “The curly girl method” but it has lots of helpful tips for all hair types! TLDR: Buildup is caused what’s in your hair products. Not every hair routine will work for everyone.

You just need to suck it up and not wash your hair. It’ll get better with time. I used to wash everyday then I just took 2 months where I just let my hair look bad until I decided to wash. I now do once a week.

katie Ive been trying to get my hair to not be oily by not washing often for genuinely years now. Ill not wash it for like 3 days on average. Mostly more. And it still gets oily on day 2. I’m not sure if just sucking it up works for everybody but good that it worked for you!

Iris Patcher I’m not if you’re doing this but just to help out if possible I’m throwing this out there. You have to consistently do it for months and months. If you’ve done that and it doesn’t work then rip.

katie As i said. Ive been trying this for genuinely years. I read up on it while I started university because I was more conscious and annoyed by it then. I’ve already graduated and have been out of university for over a year. It does not work for everyone sadly.

Will your curly method work on straight hair to make it sorta wavy? I think I have naturally straight hair but sometimes it’s wavy and I want it to be wavier

The CG method is essentially to improve the health of your hair to get the least frizz and most definition possible so I mean 1. It would be good for the health of your hair and scalp either way and 2. It totally could help enhance a natural wave! Ya just gotta find the right products for you!

If your hair is straight, it's straight. You can't "make it" wavy or curly

You can see what your hair type is is when you wet your hair and let it completely hair dry. In her video she showed what her hair looks like hair dried and no product and she had like 1b maybe 1c. She manipulated her hair to have more texture by scrunching and adding gel. Which is totally fine but i wouldn't consider her hair curly, it has a little wave to it but it is pin straight naturally.

I’m commenting here since the comments on that video are disabled 😫 but I just wanted to say thank you so much for that video!!! It’s been YEARS since I’ve gotten curl in my hair! My hair is naturally straight and frizzy and it’s just terrible! It never wants to do anything! But your tutorial I followed step by step, product by product and it turned out AMAZING! love your channel! I made sure to subscribe!! 😘😘😘

Sis try salt water spray and curl mouse or braid your hair up in a few sections cause that was way too much work and your hair can lock up 😭😭

How do you stopping your curly hair getting super tangled during the day? I leave mine for two days and then i have to brush it out
@Navvaris.
@Navvaris. 5 жыл бұрын
Try cutting your ends and making sure that the products you use are moisturizing and not gels. I have naturally super curly hair and I can go almost 4 days without it getting super tangled and knotted. You should also try sulfate, silicate, and silicon free shampoos and conditioners. They made a huge difference with my hair.

I only started about a year ago to wear my natural hair out since my phase and I don’t straighten it anymore l. It’s gotten curlier than I remember and now my hair gets super tangled within about a day. What I do is I braid the parts that get super tangly every night,spray some water on it the next morning my curls return normally. I only brush when I get out of the shower.

At first I was wondering why you disabled the comments on your recent video and then I realized nowadays everyone seems to have to get offended off of anything . The video might not work for you, doesnt mean it's a bad video it's just targeted to people who have her hair. My hair is nothing like hers but I'm not gonna go and hate on it. I'm sorry that you have to disable your comments for that😂😕but you honestly cant escape it being a "hair" youtuber and all bc I see both sides and understand the other side aswell.

Dang, people really have such a corn cob up their butt with your curly hair video. I enjoyed it and found it interesting. People are saying that you can't just discover you have curly hair, but your hair type can change. My mother's hair used to be completely straight, but within the past couple years, her hair has gotten really wavy. Almost curly, actually. Do you, girl.

My main problem is people being rude to her. I'm not going to argue over whether she has curly hair or not, because that's not important. Commenting rude crap on a person's video that will not effect you in the long run is a waste. And that's the tea, SIS. It's all love on my end, and that's all I'm gonna say.

Madeline Henderson the thing is. Her hair type didn’t change. She forced her hair to be curly by adding all these products and doing a whole bunch of techniques to achieve “curly hair” when her hair is not naturally curly. Then she says she “discovered” her curly hair and proceeds to give advice/tips for curly hair when she has never had curly hair in her life. Its not natural. And no one is really offended as much as they are just annoyed because she is not the first person to do this. She should Leave the curly hair tips to people who actually have curly hair in my opinion. Also u dont have curly hair so u wouldnt really understand. U don’t know struggles that come with curly hair so u wouldnt really know the annoyance of people claiming they have natural curly hair feels like.

Madeline Henderson her hair is not curly ok she use techniques to make it look that way if it was naturally like that she wouldn’t have needed to do that. I have no problem with her having curly hair but one those are not curls they are waves two it’s not natural so she shouldn’t be saying it is and three I don’t want people to get false information
