In part two of my series about preparing photos for limited edition printing, I show your my workflow for soft proofing in Lightroom and for Print Sharpening using Nik Output Sharpener. I also show you how I use Gigapixel AI to get the correct output size for the print.

Michael really appreciate this episode. I've never printed anything large until now. So this week struggled to learn everything I did. Sent my file off for printing a few hours ago. After watching this I'm more confident that I have completed the critical steps for a quality result.

Hello Michael, I've noticed that some print labs accept files in AdobeRGB vs the more limited sRGB. Is the color space of the file sent to the print lab inconsequential for getting more accurate colors and gradations as when editing in 16-bit AdobeRGB/ProPhotoRGB? Awesome video series btw :). Kudos!

For editing use as large of color space and bit depth as possible. Then you have all Flexibility. For lab you have to convert to what they support. If they Support Adobe rgb thats great and you should send them Adobe rgb files. I use WhiteWall who take srgb but I never had isses with that color space for the photos I print.

@@mibreit-photo Don't forget, if you are editing in Adobe RGB your monitor needs to be able to display in that colour space otherwise you are effectively editing in sRGB.

Good video. For me ON1 Resize does a better and quicker job than Topaz for enlargements.

Many do not but that is poor procedure, If you calibrate the monitor to D65 then the lamp in your room should always be D65. If you calibrate for d50 then D50 applies. Keep it bright well above 1000 lumens. Ideally with know windows.

Yes I use daylight Lamp at roughly 6500k which is quite bright.
