Yeeeeessss! I was starting to think you had some sort of aversion to sohyang. I know you've done dimash & morissette & tbh they usually come as a 3.maybe now,if you hear people saying sohyang is the 'queen' where dimash is 'king', you may now understand why. I thought you may have come across her before as although she can literally sing ANY genre,her heart belongs to gospel music & she is a devout christian & as I believe you are a man of faith I just thought you may have heard of her. You should read her back story & the reason that she is not the worldwide superstar that her voice surely deserves is that all the big record companies have tried to sign her but she has always declined as fame/fortune aren't what drives her,instead choosing to stay independent & do what she wants,which is to use the gift that god gave her to bring happiness to those experiencing difficult times. Sohyang is a masterful arranger & is responsible for the arrangment of all the songs she performs.sometimes the arrangment changes the song a fair bit from the original,sometimes only a little,dependent on the song & the circumstances in which she's singing it but she always makes it her own version & only if its for the better,she is far too respectful to rearrange a song & make it worse. Never be put off reacting to one of her performances if its not in english as she (& sometimes dimash) regularly has me in tears without me knowing what she's singing about,thats how good she is at portraying emotion in a song. Try watching her non english performances on vimeo as they usually provide eng subs. So many songs I could recommend but I think: 'lean on me' (michael bolton was in the audience), 'arirang alone' (a simple korean folk song that has been given the sohyang treatment arrangment wise) & 'you raise me up', and what is regarded as her masterpiece,a song that sohyang herself said was the most difficult to perform as there are limited places to breathe & thats the song 'everyone' (7.5 mins of a vocal masterclass). All these songs are from the show 'immortal songs 2 & should give you a better idea of her capabilities & are from roughly the same period 2017/8. She is not know for releasing lots of material & has suffered with long periods of bad health but she appears to have been in pretty good health recently & has released quite a lot of her material that she's done during the pandemic,so there is material that is available that is bang up to date. Most of the people who sing on KZfaq have a mismatch between their emotions and sounds. They pretend to sing a lot of technique only. But Sohyang is emotion = sound. I can feel it in her strong chest voice. Sohyang doesn't make a sound. "Express" the sound. For example, when speaking, emotions and sounds match, but Sohyang sings as if speaking. So emotion = sound. Others sound difficult or plain. You need to know the difference.

Current odds are that she’s from another planet or perhaps an angel come down from Heaven. We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all travelled to Asia to work with her. She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day.
