I think the reason her fans love her so much is that in addition to her incredible technical skills she is 100% genuine, this is was a great performance and the character she was playing is herself. It was like an eight minute autobiography, and it's impossible to imagine another singer attempting this arrangement. As a matter of fact she's never performed it again herself and I would give anything to have been in the audience that night.

This is one of the hardest songs to cover. Not just she sang it with different languages, but also she kept going while staying in 5th octave for a long period… then to acapella, then singing (again in 5th octave). Not so many singers can do that

I'm not a professional musician, but I heard that bending notes is intentional, which makes songs rich especially in Gospel songs.
