Soil Stack Vent Pipe Install

Time to get the sh** pipe sorted. Decided to go for an external air admittance valve to stop any suspect smells. Also had to do a little more insulation ready for the inspection that never actually happened!

Another good video and a real help to anyone taking something like this on for the first time, you have highlighted the most important part of any building work, planning things in advance!

I assume your the soil pipe is going into a normal sewer drainage system. If you are going into a Septic Tank or Cess Pit drainage you could encounter problems with an AAV unless the Septic Tank / Cess Pit had there own vent that's vented to atmosphere.

It's a water sewage treatment plant so yes you are correct on the basis I need one open stack. I was going to do one on the end of line for the main house but ended up swapping it to this one instead. Now it's extended beyond the roof apex and actually has a spinning chimney cowl on it 😆 that's just to make it interesting and also helps keep the pigeons off the roof. There is a low level air vent next to the main chamber also. So all works well 👍

The weather this year has been all over the place. I'm hoping for some happy medium over the next couple of months whilst I finish up the cartlodge but it's probably going to skip autumn and go straight to winter knowing my luck 🤦‍♂️
