I love how awkward some of their interactions are since Suki hasn't interacted with anyone except the kyoshi warriors and the other villagers so she doesn't really know how to interact with strangers in a normal way, on top of being awkward because of her crush on Sokka

Suki and Sokka ate in this version. I love the original but the live action has its own charm. Hope to see more of them in season 2. Based on how the original went, I’m sure we will. Can’t wait for these two to be endgame.

I really like the portrayal of Sokka in the live action show, a lot more vulnerability. People gotta realize that it would be extremely hard to bring the cartoon versions of the characters and it not come across as too silly. Only character I think could be a little more like their original counterpart is Aang, just doesn’t seem quite as fun loving as he should be.

i knew Maria Zhang was going to be a stand-out the moment I saw her in the teaser trailer. Glad I was not wrong. Look at her! She is beautiful and her chemistry with Ian Ousley feels so natural. One of the many reasons i want this live-action to continue. Hope so!

The biggest Achievement in this Show is female Characters actually being likeable. Katara, Suki, her Mother & the Kyoshi Warriors & Kyoshi herself are actually very likable. I'm not used to that by Hollywood by now. Their Romance was actually really sweet here, can't wait to see it continue in further Seasons.

That’s probably because these characters existed long before the live action version came out. Except for Suki’s mother, the rest are apart of the original show by the same name.

@tylersaxby Well, you could still argue that Suki was intrigued by Sokka. He's from the outside world, claims to be a warrior like her, and is a boy (a good-looking one at that) around her age. I don’t think its any surprise that Suki would find Sokka interesting.

The wound to Sokka's ego by Suki was so crucial to his growth as a warrior such a shame we dont see it in this adaptation. To be fair Sokka doesnt even have much of an ego compared to the og. I love Suki in this adaptation tho, plays character and her nuances so well imo

The problem with the netflix series is them removing the high comedy the aimated series had and removing very important scenes and replacing them with new scenes. A faithful adaptation puts new spins on certain scenes while keeping the same vibe but they completely removed most scenes and replaced them with entirely new scenes. Like everyone seems depressed, stressed etc in the live action. Its suppose to be a fun, cool show with a bit of romance and drama with action. They removed the fun and cool parts of the show.
