In this video we can learn Solar system calculation for Home in Step by step calculation.
what is Solar Energy?
Solar technologies convert sunlight into electrical energy either through photovoltaic (PV) panels or through mirrors that concentrate solar radiation. This energy can be used to generate electricity or be stored in batteries or thermal storage.

HI, thanks for the video, I came here to refresh my memory. Your video is well executed; however, you have made quite a few blunders that will almost definitely confuse someone who uses this video as a primary source of understanding. 6:11 - Power required from Solar Panel ... take note of your formula... the result is in Watts. 7:17 - Power required from Solar Panel = 3240/(5.84*0.73) = 759.99 = 760 Watts - You can then round this off to 1000W for simplicity. 8:30 - the power required from solar panels should be in Watts (W) and not kilo Watt hours (kWh) Output power of solar panels are in Watts (W). For those who don't know where the 250 came from. May I suggest you add a note saying that you chose this particular size panel for this example :) Anyway, you get the point I hope. Great visual execution but pay a bit more attention to your final product. You obviously understand what you're doing but there were unnecessary mistakes.

Helpful! Informative! But I think the right way of choosing charge controller is by identifying the configuration of the solar pv panels and calculating the total (Isc) short circuit current of the array. I also want to emphasize that on designing Solar-off-grid sytem, the autonomy days without sunlight will depend on the location of the installation. Just like in Philippines where sunlight is minimal during rain storms and other weather conditions that usually lasts for 6 days.

1) If the total daily power is 3240 wouldn't you need to DIVIDE by the hours of sunlight (5.84) to get the hourly rating of the solar panel needed? 2) Don't you also need to DIVIDE by the system efficiency? SO if the efficiency were very low (e.g. .50) you would need more power. And if it were high (close to 1) it would be near the output power? If 1 & 2 make sense that would give Power as 3240*(1/5.84)*(1/0.73) = ~760W

Please sir reply to this comment please i have one question to ask. Initially you wrote the formula for( power required from solar pv in watts)= total energy required from solar PV(wh)/effective sunshine hours x system efficiency But later in the video after calculating system efficiency you multiply all the terms instead of divide. You did----> power required from solar panel= total energy required x effective sunshine hours x system efficiency. Which one is right? = 3240 x 5.84 x 0.73 this gives 13812.768W IF I DO =3240/ 5.84X 0.73= 760Watts Which one is right? Please clear this doubt please

Utter balony !! 3240Wh should be DIVIDED by 5.84 sunhours to give the Power (W) required to produce that much energy in a day and that result should be DIVIDED by 0.73 to overcome the inefficiency giving 760W not 833W (which appears to be a totally random figure). Also how did 1000W (power) suddenly become 1000Wh (Energy) and then get divided into 4 x250W (back to Power again) panels. 'Total Power required per day' is totally meaningless. That number (442W) is simply the power that could be required at any instant if everything (all listed loads) were switched on at the same time. The 5.84 sunhours is an anual average. To rate your system on 1 day of 'back-up' would mean that it would not work well, if at all in the winter when you are pretty much guaranteed to get fewer hours of useful sun. No mention of batteries in series to raise the voltage and lower DC the current making all the electronics and cabling a lot cheaper. Who really wants an 83A (100A) charge controller or that kind of expensive heavy cabling or those kind of heat losses?
@itorres008
@itorres008 11 ай бұрын
This video is mostly animations and flawed information. The formulas are not presented correctly the hours of sunlight and efficiency should be divisors, as the first slide labeled "Step 2" showed. on the next slide they appear as multipliers - a wrong formula. The number 833W appears out of nowhere and is not equal to 3240 x 5.84 x .73, which is over 13,800W. What is the point of finding and multiplying so many coefficients of efficiency if in the end you're just going to round up 833W to 1000W arbitrarily? On calculating number of panels they divide by 250 as if all the panels in the world generate 250W. And also, they are using the wrong units in certain places, like in the solar panel calculations the output of a panel is measured in Watts, not Watt hours.
