There isn’t even a comparison. These are ACTUALLY Cadillacs. The ones they make today just have the name “Cadillac” on them. Other than that they are pure garbage. When you are riding in a Cadillac, you’re supposed to feel like you’re sitting on a sofa and being suspended by a cushion of air, in nothing but pure silence!! Not getting to feel every single pea in the road, in the name of “sportiness” or whatever (rollseyes).

Ians Tech Cadillacs are pocket change for some people. I could easily afford to pay cash for two fully loaded Escalades, not that I’d ever do that since I’m too cheap. Back then luxury cars were bought by people who made it. Now they are leased by broke people to appear they made it. Wealthy people now drive several year old Camrys, F150s, RAV4s, and Accords etc. I’m not impressed with modern luxury cars of any brand. The leather on modern luxury cars is fake or poor quality and the interiors are full of cheap plastic just like less expensive models.

@Ronald McFondle I looked into the CT8 thing and it looks like it's still in limbo but man the renders/teasers look sweet. I forgot about the CT6. That's actually a nice looking car. My Buick is already nice so I'd imagine that thing would be hella sweet to drive. I'm all about the isolation and smoothness the older I get.
@dchawk81

@Ronald McFondle I don't go in for German makes but Cadillacs and Buicks are cheap second hand for the reasons you mentioned. Yet they're still a good car. Eg my Verano is a sweet little luxurious runabout for its size and used price. It's a 2012 but doesn't seem that old at all. It's basically a super gussied up Cruze with the engine that the Chevy badge makes you get a bigger car to have, so it scoots pretty good. Cadillacs are similar, IMHO. They're not particularly appealing on the new lot but when they've been cut down in price after a couple years they're better than almost anything else you'd get for the same money.

@Ronald McFondle hey Ron : read your comments on the car, pimp cars were painted in colors like hot pink or sky blue with big Doughnut white walls and and rediculous amounts of chrome and fur. This particular car in my opinion is very elegant. Don't get me wrong, I do understand that some people don't care for red and maroon, but I thought it was a good combination 👍.

@@papichulo7757 Yup, that is what people don't understand, probably would need to change out all the hoses at a bare minimum, then you have all the gaskets etc like the oil pan gasket. Plus all the fluids need changed and brake fluid can attract water and rust the inside so that would need gone over. If you can do your own work and assuming no major gasket fail for the engine it would be a great vehicle. Shocks would also need changed because of seals and fluid inside.

Lobster Johnson lobster I agree with you but I would add the 70s also. The only problem in the 70s was when the Liberal sickos started pushing all the emissions and the car companies had to add that to every automobile but they were still good cars. I'd like to add that in 88 this Cadillac had a 307 V8 which wasn't even a Cadillac engine and while better than that pissy 4100 it was still underpowered thanks to those disgusting liberals in Congress from the 70s who pushed more EPA BS and higher MPG garbage. No car company during this era could really give cars the power and pep that they needed and used to have from previous generations and the outsourcing had begun so there you go. It's truly sad what has happened to our country over the last 40 years.

My first car was an 86 Brougham D'elegance in white with 88 thousand miles on the clock when I got it at 14 years old. Really love these boats and it is amazing to see one in such a clean state. Mine was rusted out from Chicago salt but still ran very well. Only thing I notice different about this one is the key chime. Mine had a physical bell that would knock and ring while this car seems to have a digital bell chime.

Another fine example from Specialty Motor Cars. Thank you Anthony for this great video, outside, inside, in the trunk, under the hood “Engine”, underside. You’re honestly pointing out any little blemishes or scratches. It’s refreshing to see and hear such honesty these days. Please, Anthony I would ask, In all respect, as I hear there’s a triple white Cadillac Brougham on its way to you, If you could make the same in-depth video, with the addition of a demonstration of the opera lighting “between the doors”, stereo radio cassette and power antenna working just fine. I know it may sound the I am a little fussy, but to a collector, these things are indeed important. Many thanks, Paul.

It still had the smell of a new car. The leather seats were in excellent condition, the engine started up and ran silky smooth. The exhaust system was fine. The paint and interior were almost perfect. So, I bought it. Only $3700. Still driving it today. I''ve put about 120,000 miles on it.

Beautiful, outstanding preserved & original condition Cadillac, representative of the "Elegant" chrome & trim era. For anyone who'd pay $18,000 for this & drive it to work 5 days/week, sitting out in sun, rain & road elements, washing too often, think again. U are paying for a pristinely kept, original example of a 32 year old car that's been kept in dark storage & dry most of it's life. In no time, it's original beauty will fade in the sun & naturally accruing miles will leave you with depreciation faster than your head can spin! Within 2 years or less, it won't be a pristine car. For a Collector who's inclined to continue the Legacy of keeping her in the Carriage House, only out on nice Sundays & Car Shows, good deal. For me, I'd rather put my $18,000 down towards a pristine 1987 Buick Grand National 😎

Assembled in Arlington Texas. I had one EXACTLY like this when I worked for Cadillac as my demo.

I had the 78 sedan Deville brand new. It’s something how the body style is virtually identical to this one. I love that car and I kick myself for trading it in

What happened to the great names of yore: Fleetwood, Brougham, Seville, Sedan de Ville, and so forth. Today's Cadillacs have models: XT4, XT5, XT6, CT4, CT4-V, CT5, CT5-V, CT6-V. General Motors is not renowned for dependability. They had SRX a short time ago, but it was so panned and troublesome, that Cadillac simply took it off the market.

Stormy D. - Cute, I love my CT6 and will probably buy out my lease since they aren’t making it anymore. I drove the CT5 and now realized why I don’t like it, I’m not a Camaro guy. Hope you have an amazing day.

Why would anyone dislike this video this is a true beauty.i had a 87 I brought for $300 clean just like this but no motor or transmission gave it a 9 out of a 10 only reason cause the paint on the trunk was faded.

An absolute stunner!! It’s a shame it’s got the 5.0L - but that still wouldn’t stop me ... is it throttle body injected for 88?? I can’t recall. My 83 Olds Delta 88 Brougham couldn’t pull the skin off of last nights pudding with the anemic 5.0, but it sure drove and rode nicely. Whoever possesses this beauty now got a real prize!!! 🙌🏻

My Cousin owned a 1974 Convertable Caddy. She couldnt afford to drive it. My Uncle thought she would be safe driving it. She was because she couldnt afford to put gas in it. I owned a 1976 Chrysler New Yorker that was as big as that caddy. I couldnt afford to drive that eather. It was my mom's car till she bought a new Chevt Nova 4 door. I drive her car more than my own. That is one beautiful vehicle. Whomever buys it should replace the tires and just drive it. That car is always going to be a classic.

When I worked at Cadillac in 1988 I learned at the GM training center that this car was the same as a Chevy Pickup as far as the drive train went. They are very solid cars I would want one except for the face that airbags were not included yet in 88.

I don't think you could find a better example in better shape and lower miles than this Cadillac. The color is stunning. It's crazy that people will buy a car and then not really drive it. But it's good for collectors because they get an original preserved vehicle.
