If the current market persisted... which it's not going to. Actually the best time to sell because used car prices are dropping slowly, but steadily. The Peak was July and ever since then trending down, so now is probably the best time to sell the Type R. Sure it wouldn't have lost much value, but they got the biggest dollar amount. New economy cars are in high demand even still, and that's going up. So if they get a type R in the 2023, they would've lost maybe a few g's which they already recouped by getting an absurd amount for the old CTR.

It was a great looking Type R for sure. But I also do like the new one too. I think you can’t go wrong with either or and I guess the new one handles better which is pretty impressive since the FK8 already felt amazing. But yes a home just sounds better at the moment. I’m at that age where I feel like I need to make different moves now. We will for sure be getting another Type R right after tho 🤞🏼

College is an investment. I’m sure you’ve heard that a million times. But don’t feel like it’s a waste, it’s a long and tedious process. From the first day to the time where you start applying for jobs. It may take a while but In the long run it will pay off

Honestly bro it's mostly about understand your own personal finances and budgeting wisely. I'm a Specialty Barista and owned a 2020 Tacoma TRD PRO and traded it in for my wife's 2022 Sienna Platinum. I'm hoping to purchase my own car (2023 Corolla GR Circuit Edition) next year and I've been saving and will have more money set aside by next year. Learn negotiating auto loans and APR's and do tons of research on banking, loans and budgeting. Also a big tip. Learn to say no if the deal isn't ideal even if you want it badly. If it doesn't make sense financially this time but perhaps later on the road it will. Take that route. Oh, and work on your credit score as it will give you tons of negotiating leverage.

The boost blue Fk8 is such a nice car. But yeah we’re hoping we like the FL5 just as much or hopefully more but we will see when the time comes. I’m gunna see it soon and hopefully get to drive it too

Saving up to buy a house hopefully within’ the next year and then getting the new Type R right after so we can garage it. I’m proud of her for making that decision. I know it was a hard one for her. But a house will be a better investment and something we’re both really looking forward too at the moment. Good thing is that there are lot of Type R’s out there for sale with low miles if we ever wanted to buy one again soon. It’s not a rare car that’s hard to find. Also, I feel like when the new Type R comes out, the older ones will drop in value, so we sold before that. But we will see! And You’ll love it when you get it! It’s a great car. Handles amazing.

@@lildavidgarcia I honestly believe the R would hold its value more than this new civic because it's a flagship. The boost blue is dope, but it's not like a type R boost blue. I also don't think the R will drop in value wen the new one comes out because there's a cult following for both chassis. Like the EF and EG community for example. Add on top of that the new R is gonna be closer to 50k the current R will continue to hold its value near the numbers they currently pull. I am very happy for yall on the house hunting tho. I'm also in that process with two cars that have way too much money into them so I understand. Hope it all pans out.

Buying a home is definitely a smarter move. When I was younger I didn’t care for a house, only cars. But as you get older, your mind will change as well. There are plenty of Type R’s out there to buy again.

I'm looking to trade in mine for the FL5. The S2000 I will never sale, I modified it too much and I don't care about the original shit because the car will be with me forever.

Getting a house first, then getting the new Type R to keep this one in a garage now. And made a couple thousand more on selling the FK8 than what we bought it for. Was tired of the type R getting bumped into by other cars in my apartment complex. Not worth having that car sit outside everyday. The new civic is only temporary. That one is okay to sit outside for now.

Exactly 👌🏼 I’m glad you understand. If we waited another year to sell it we most likely wouldn’t have made any money off of it like we did selling it right now. Would’ve been more miles and wear and tear. Plus, we got tired of leaving it outside everyday in the sun in random parking spots where I live. Once we get a home soon, a new Type R will come home with us too and have a garage space for it.

Yeah we weren’t expecting to get $50k out of it because of those 2 things you mentioned. Mainly because of the dent. Most dealerships replace all 4 tires anyways before selling. They still did list it for like $52k tho. What we sold it to them for was a good price that we were happy and comfortable with.

If that’s the case I might stick with something else. Not sure yet. I recently sold my 08 g35 sedan that had 35k miles. It sold in 2 days lol

@@spawnandbatman6975 we were also looking for a 2022 Si. We did find some, but they were all marked up more than $9k. Which is pretty much the price of the type R at MSRP so we were not going to do that. Wow that’s a really low mile G35. I can see why it was an easy sale haha

Exterior was really modified, had and exhaust but idk what else. Sounded like he knew how to shift fast. The R would pull on him every time when we started from second gear and I pulled away more once we hit 3rd

They were marked up too high and non were stick. This boost blue hatch is more “rare” cause of the color and cause it’s stick shift. Got it for a good price thanks to a friend from Honda. It will hold it’s value better when we sell it for the new R. Gotta play it smart since we plan on selling this car later.
