In my opunion, this is the best tone Ola's ever gotten. Might have to get one of these.

I think this may be my favorite demo so far! It sounds organic and pretty rich in harmonics. It's just really thick and ballsy with a flavor I can't get enough of!!!

@mudbone80 well the 5150s are based somewhat around the soldano slo100 so you it's not to far from the truth!

It just pisses me off listening to this knowing I could never afford one.

A bit of context, this is used to be my amp (ola got it from me). It had a lot of selected tubes in it, every single stage of the tube chain had a selected tube for a reason. If I remember correctly I used a Tesla 12AT7 with an extremely low noise level for the first gain stage, then regular Tesla 12AX7's and an extremely low noise phase inverter tube (I felt like I went through a 100 before finding one I liked) in the poweramp section there was matched JJ's 6L6's that was perfectly biased (I actually thought I converted it to EL34's but I can't find any notes on my own supporting that). The main point, I put a lot of work into that amp to get it perfect. At the time, my economy wasn't great so it had to go. To this date, this is the amp I wish I never sold. On a personal note, I prefer the Soldano's through a greenback cab rather than a V30 as the Soldano is a bit scooped and the greenbacks bring out a bit more midrange, for the Djent metalhead that won't work as the chugga chugga lowend isn't great with greenbacks.

i actually prefer it when there arent vocals in these amp demos, i find it distracts and makes the amp harder to be truly heard. i think drums and guitar is plenty enough :)

Thats a great sounding amp.

I have the 50+ version and the amp has plenty of bottom end, even with the matching Soldano 2x12 cab (v30s). You usually need to keep the bass knob at 7 or below or it gets too heavy/dark. The main tone/gain shaping control is the presence knob. It will take you from modern razor cutting metal to vintage rock. Mine is modded with channel switching, clean/crunch toggle and modern/vintage toggle switches. These amps also have a recording preamp line out jack perfect for feeding cab/speaker sim/IRs

Probably the best sounding of the lot... Mesa Mark V runs in second, more compressed though. Soldanos has allot of air... it breathes.

Also forgot to say, you might need to throw a tube screamer in to kinda boost it a little, but set the drive all the way down on the tube screamer and let the soldano handle all the crunch.

I would like to hear this with a boost like the PD. The tone is a bit flat and compressed. I feel like it has more room to be a lot tighter.

I want to play Joel Stroetzel's (heavily modified) Soldano SLO that was used on "as daylight dies" that record was only double tracked not quad and it sounded bigger than heartache (quad)

@ToUrDome09 Im pretty sure its a Maxon 808 OD pedal. It has 3 knobs but the one tone knob is smaller and you can't really see it at certain angles.

Ive used the Soldano slo 100 in amplitube, and it sounds unbelievable. Youd be able to get this same sound.

@FourthHorseman666 Only the overdrive circuit is the same. The SLO uses different potentiometers (mounted to the chassis & flied to the board), trannies (DeYoung, ONLY available in the SLO) and a few other things. SLO is a bit more articulate and has an actual clean channel unlike the Hot Rod's crunch channel. They're all good, IMO!!! I've had a Hot Rod 50, an Avenger 100, & now have the SLO. The Avenger is an absolute BEAST for metal, aaaaand cheaper than the Hot Rod!!!

Many people express skepticism for the Soldano for metal specifically. I can't see the same actually. We recorded a cover for the Creed's "Higher" and I used that amp with Mesa 4-12 cabinet. The sound is brutal, you can check here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iLF2hKSg1drRe6s.html

i remember that tune so much ! it's the first video of you ever i saw. You played the ENGL Blackmore sig, and the tone was more brutal than with the soldano. Good playing and channel ! Especially for someone like me who knows you from your very beginning :)

ive played guitar for 6 years and have had many marshalls..... they suck. Theres no arguing that they dont... i switched over to blackstar and the tone difference and depth it gives was crazy..... right now i use the engl fireball and i havnt looked back

Jeah, but it all depends on your own opinion, you can´t say that an amp sucks in general. It really depends on the style you´re playing and we all know that blackstar and the engl fireball do have a new and modern sound compared to the old´ marshalls.

Killer tone man. It just occured to me, one of the main complaints against the Bugera 6262 is that the LED breaks. Given it's a rip off of this and a 6505+, they got it just right.........hahahaha.
