I feel like Season 3 was where they started to have the potential to be something more than friends and leaders. It's the first time in the series they're ever separated for an extended period of time and have zero contact. Bellamy's desperate "We can't lose Clarke. We can't lose her." Is the moment I feel he realizes how much he truly needs her. For Clarke, this one's a bit more complicated but I think it's the moment she tries to reason with him in Arkadia. At that point, she knows she can't fix what Pike is doing alone. Something also feels very different during both scenes. Both of them show a vulnerability at the thought of losing the other that they've never shown before. For Bellamy, Clarke is being taken somewhere unknown and for Clarke, the Bellamy she trusted to take care of the others is slipping away.
