They are running reduced tire pressure. It takes more power to move the rig, but it helps the truck to not sink into soft ground and get more grip. A smart operator sets up for the conditions before they get stuck, heh.

You can spot Owner/Operators from a mile away... Rigs that are old as the hills, and flying up & down the logging road. Companies usually have newer iron, and drivers who are paid by the hour - not the load.

Snowrunner does NOT over exaggerate how good this truck it. It's an amazing beast irl too😂. Too bad Pacific doesn't make trucks anymore. Pinnacle of Canadian engineering in the 70's Edit: Someone in the replies had mentioned that it's actually a Mack CL350, and upon further research, they're right. The only difference I see is the hood is sloped, but I thought Pacific just did something different this time. So for anyone else who thought it was a P16, it's actually a CL350.

My dad had one of these truck in the high hills of Michoacán México 🇲🇽 back in the early 90s, just identical as this one the company that make those trucks is not longer "alive" the model was AUTOCAR and let me tell you as logging trucks they simply were the best nothing came close to the sheer power and handling fully loaded, I missed those days riding with him in my vacation time, I miss you pops thank you for giving me the best childhood of a lifetime 🥲😢😢

High bank curves on log road help get logs to the mill faster. Always be ready to steer into a ditch if you meet a log truck, keep headlights on, window open, radio or noise off.

I used to drive those old fat trucks up here in British Columbia west coast and big wood , Hayes hex 1000 , pacific p-16 , kenworth 850 😊now I drive my 1979 kenworth lw 924 3407 40 ton columbia logging rigging , I even still run water on my breaks 😊

Yep, can confirm, Mack cl350. Narrow sloped hood, single headlight, utility style cab rather than a truck cab, etc. There were actually quite a few different super logger trucks being made over the years. They look so similar because most of the parts in the chassis are supplied by the same companies, and they were designed for extremely harsh and rugged conditions. It was all about utility and reliability, not chrome and being shiny.

These are good rigs but if I had to choose the best kind of semi: easily the Aussie road trains. You’re going to have a tough time beating 1000+hp truck engines

Volvo and scania have the highest hp trucks in Australia and they're still well short of 1000+hp. We also don't jump on American engines like they do in the states to squeeze more power out of them. If it's an American truck it generally has no more than 600hp with the exclusion of Mack who have the highest hp in a conventional truck in Australia with the mp10 putting out 685hp. Don't talk shit on the internet mate.
