I can tell that you're Canadian. Not by your "accent", but because you are crawling around, under your truck, in the snow, to show us what you did to your awesome truck😄. Great job on the truck and the great videos that you make for us.

Hey the washers on your radius are bushings on incorrect. They should cup the bushing not curve away. Helps keep the bushing from splitting. Great build.

If you want stiffer springs in the rear use Ford Explorer V8 rear springs. It will also lift it a bit without extended shackles.

I've been watching this cause I have a Ranger that I'm planning a SAS on. My is not supercharged but it is V8 powered. I'm planning on the Ford 8.8 rear and a Dana 44 front from a Jeep wagoneer. I am however planning a leaf front. Love the truck, love it's stance.
@RangerShop1
@RangerShop1 5 ай бұрын
Thanks! You will have a nice truck there. I really thought about leafs but couldn’t figure out a way to keep it low…. Other then spring under. There is a really neat contraption called a slider box that replaces the shackles. That’s what I was going to install. Keep me posted… link a video when you do it I’d love to see it 👍

Very informative videos thank you! Would be awesome to see you do a tdi or a 5.0 swap. Cause I want to do one of those in the future.
@RangerShop1
@RangerShop1 5 ай бұрын
😂 I’m afraid not I love my supercharger. I will be going more boost though. I’ll see if I can film a buddy when he does his 5.0 swap. TDI just seems to expensive for what you get, but I’ve never driven or seen one live so I could be swayed quite easily

LOVE THIS! thanks for the great video, and for the parts! Love the way the ruck sits. I'm curious why you took out the ABS. Also, I would love to see a video of how you did the custom exhaust. even though you already did it...
@RangerShop1

Thanks Good question… I should have mentioned in the video the axles I used were from a 1979 F150 so no ABS wheel speed sensors. The ABS module was just dead without those anyways so I wanted to use the spot for my diff vents. Hope that makes sense

@@RangerShop1 Hey, I was just wondering, how did you get speed inputs into your truck after you took the ABS module out ?
@RangerShop1
@RangerShop1 4 ай бұрын
@@thomasyoung8909 sorry I should clarify the speed sensor is located in my transfercase so no problem there…. Just no abs. 😄👍

Cool build. Any hassle from insurance or registries about the changes like deleting the ABS? My insurance here in Alberta only gave me liability on my F250 after I pulled the dead 460 and dropped in a 7.3 since they now consider it to be "modified with performance upgrades." I'm building a Ranger right now, little different direction than yours. For my steering support, I got a firewall swivel bearing and mounted it to a plate that bolts in with the firewall boot, then just a single cardan 3/4" D-D u-joint to a modified Ranger lower telescoping section. I also used the pre-98 steering shaft and boot instead of the one for the rack.
@RangerShop1
@RangerShop1 4 ай бұрын
Thanks! No problem right now I’m already registered in my name I’m not sure if I was to sell it, but no plans to do that. I’ve also only got liability on it but I think if I was to go the route of full insurance I’d probably get it appraised and then insure it for that amount? That sounds like a good idea for steering shaft support. When I built my 49 ford that’s what I did through the firewall support/bearing. Let me know how it turns out. Better yet post a video on KZfaq we need more Ranger content on here! 😁

I like the fittings for the axle vents. What did you use? Also why did you remove the ABS module? For the SAS swap?
@RangerShop1
@RangerShop1 5 ай бұрын
Here’s an update to the kit I used. I’ll throw it in with the other parts amzn.to/3Id4pLB Yeah you got it. The 1979 axles I put in didn’t have speed sensors, so no abs.

I'm curious about the specs on the wheels you used, specifically the offset to compensate for the use of the full width axle.
@RangerShop1
@RangerShop1 Ай бұрын
They are for a dodge ram truck they are aftermarket but I believe very close to factory offset.

Came out great! I did a 2WD to 4x4 conversion on my Ranger a few years ago and now I’ve been thinking about doing a SAS next, so thanks for all the information! How much would you say the build roughly cost?
@RangerShop1
@RangerShop1 4 ай бұрын
Thanks! Well you definitely have the skills then! Cost about 3200$ Canadian in parts but I bought my axles for 200$ and I swapped my old tires for these ones, rims for 50$ etc. the most expensive was rebuilding the axles with limited slip and the DOM tubing because I think I got ripped off locally. 😬

Great job on the sas, it looks really well done and i like how it sits. What did you do to get rid of the abs light on the dash once the module was removed? And are you still running the 3.5 psi pulley on the supercharger or have you gone to the 5.5 yet and got it tuned?
@RangerShop1
@RangerShop1 4 ай бұрын
Thanks! Still have a light on the dash, I’ll pull that when I replace my dash lights. Still running 3.5 but I’m in the process of getting an intercooler built so bumping up to 5.5 soon!!

@@RangerShop1 im practically at sea level, engine is good with 140 psi in each cylinders, new fuel system, i am lifted on 33s but im also regeared, truck was slow before but had decent enough power to get out of its own way. I wanted the supercharger for long grades so i could stay in 5th gear and for passing power on the highway. Boost gauge came in today so ill install that this weekend snd report back
