This week on #PoolGuys, we're showcasing the installation of a winter pool cover; there are two kinds Solid and Mesh, the solid cover is included in a full installation process package when you order your Thursday Pools LLC Fiberglass pool through us.
These covers are designed to be a safety net to make sure that your pool stays safe from the elements (people and pets do not fall into the pool during the winter months) and the water typically is clear when we re-open pools in the spring.
Pictured below we have our service tech. John running across the safety cover to ensure that it's structurally sound. If John can run across the pool with the safety cover on, then you, your children, and pet's will be fine if they happen to step out on it or fall on it.
We believe highly in pool and spa safety and regulation.

Hello Annalise, Not to worry when you use a Safety Winter cover. It's very strong, holds thousands of pounds and does not collapse when someone and/or animal walks on it. Also, the most convenient cover is a Automatic cover. Those are very nice to have! Thank you for your comment and watching our videos! 😎👍

@@AmericanPoolandSpaKY- Ever since I was a little girl, my parents made it extremely clear that those old fashion pool covers will wrap you up. I was born in 1989, so it was always the covers with sandbags. That's true about those horrible old style covers right🙆

@@annalisegiovanni7032 Yes you're correct! The old tarps are very dangerous and we do not recommend. Most above ground pools use those not in-ground pools. But occasionally we still see those old tarps. We do not recommend those tarp covers.

I live in California's high desert. My backyard is full of dirt. We have extremely high winds. I have a little 16x48 above ground pool. I hate the pool cover I have with the draw string can you recommend me another way or pool cover 😒

Question should the anchors sit upper so that the hooks ride or lower because i notice a gap between edge of cover and concrete area surrounding the pool.

Thank you for the video. What do you do about rain water accumulating on the cover?

Hey Ken, when rainwater collects on a thick cover like the one shown here; we have 2 options depending on how much collects. Normally we will use a pool brush to forcefully wick the water off the cover; however, if there is too much and the cover is dipping low, we will lower a small water pump to drain the water off the cover.
