Learn more about Motion Studies by visiting us online at mlc-cad.com SOLIDWORKS includes three integrated Motion solvers for creating videos and animations in assemblies. Animation and Basic Motion are included in every license of SOLIDWORKS, and Motion Analysis is available with SOLIDWORKS Premium or any Simulation license. This tutorial series will help you understand the basic skills to get started even if you have never created animations before. Videos are broken down by topic for easy searching. Motion Analysis or Motion Simulation is a full engineering motion solver included in SOLIDWORKS Premium and in any SOLIDWORKS Simulation license. Motion Analysis has the ability to input and measure parameters that are important to design and component specification. Parameters such as displacement, velocity, acceleration, and jerk as well as torque, force, horsepower, and contact forces can be gathered and the resultant motion behavior can be reviewed and plotted. In this chapter of the tutorial we explore the basics of setting up and using a Motion Analysis study but subsequent videos will dig deeper into core topics needed to be successful with some scenarios.
