In all seriousness I think everyone should time set aside to be alone. Being alone is when you can truly be yourself. Free from others and free to think about what ever you want

I relate to this so much. People often think that it's weird that I want to be alone and often pressure me into social situations, acting like there's something wrong with loving solitude. No matter how introverted or extroverted you are, we all need some alone time, some more than the others. :)

I´m usually just a huge pain in the ass at social gatherings, especially if people forced me into those situations. Over time, my family and friends learned that when I say "no", it means "No, and if you ask too often I´ll agree anyways, only to ruin everyone´s day" I mean, I still have to go to birthdays and such, but I usually just take a walk outside and come back 3 hours later when it´s time to go back home.

Psych2Go too much knowledge? too much love? too much positivity? too much peace? too much of certain things is bad for your health and well being
@len4915
@len4915 7 жыл бұрын
Christopher Alexander Too much knowledge causes you to link things that don't go together and forget things that would otherwise be true to you. Too much love causes some if not most or all to end up relying on others to feel their emotions. Too much positivity causes for people who are overly positive to see negative situations as if they're in the future, when everything is resolved. Too much peace causes for those who rely on others to feel peace to feel withdrawl as nobody is talking. In another sense, peace causes war, think of it this way, if you're on an island where everyone thinks the same and does the same, one simple slip-up could mean the end of you. People would end up doing the same and rebel against the other groups who don't like what you did. Therefore originality is a must and peace must be regulated.
@christopheralexander6502
@christopheralexander6502 7 жыл бұрын
Lene Lefiti Well you assume if an individual had "too much knowledge" it would cause them to link things and forget things true to the individual. Nothing wrong with "too much positivity", if anything positive people/energy brings others up. Another assumption you make that if their was "too much peace" then no one would to talk to resolve possible problems/situations. Remember assumptions make bad conclusions. If anything, we can agree to disagree. And im not saying im right or wrong, and im not stating that your right or wrong, but we both have our on perspective and opinion on there being "too much". Have a nice day.

While I believe everyone needs some degree of "me-time", it's important not to over-do it. This may sound odd to you, but solitude can be addicting. Once it becomes your standard mode of behavior, it's hard to adapt. You may not know how to do anything different, even if you'd like to. Or, you may have a hard time even identifying that you'd like something other than solitude. I personally have defined a great part of my character as being separate from others, which I think is romanticizing any lonely feelings or perhaps any discomfort about "not fitting in" on my part. Such a mindset only serves to inflate my ego and make me feel isolated; essentially backfiring to make me feel more lonely. So while I'd love to preach about the joys of solitude, I also insist that you must regulate yourself correctly in general! We all have different amounts of social interaction we can take, but we all require socialization AND solitude. You shouldn't be ashamed of your quota for either, so long as it doesn't cause problems. On that note, hi Psych2Go! You should make a video on self-imposed isolation, if you haven't already. I haven't actually looked. 😸

Living with my whole family on a small house, and having to work attending lots of people at a time for most of the day really drains me especially because of how much I enjoy my own solitude people don't get it and my family actively breaks it all the time, forcing me into more tasks and interactions My only shelters have been my bathroom, my bed at night, and my desk upstairs, and even then, none last very long

this is exactly how I feel. I'm expected to interact with people and I had to be talking to someone at all times and no one really got my need to be alone. Bring introverted didn't help, because being around people just exhausts me. I felt like I was losing my friendships and I didn't know what I was doing anymore. I got to points where I stayed up crying at the thought of having to be around people the next day. So I just remember to get me time every now and then, it just helps

I understand this completely, at school my people meter is always up and being an introvert it's mostly annoying and tiring. So when my mom picks me up the first thing I do is pick up a book and read to lock myself in my own head. But my mother doesn't understand that I'm emotionally drained and just plagues me with questions about school. "How was your day?" "What happened?" "Oh come on, tell me!" And it just annoyed and drained me more. Same thing when I close my bedroom door to get some peace and she opens it "to get the air circulating" and strolls in and out like it's perfectly normal. When I'm just trying my best to lock myself away and they don't even notice!

I studied in boarding school for five years and now in university, so it is pretty much going to be at least 9 years of my life, with people around me. Ever since i was thirteen I learned that I can get the time for myself is when everyone else is asleep or on weekends spent at the dorm instead of going out. I 'earned' my insomnia for the first time when I was sixteen because i deal with a lot of homework and just stressed out about my deputy obligations. You will always find me the last person in the study room during 2.30 a.m. and the only one in the dorm during weekend movie nights and lunch .. I still haven't figured out a way in uni yet, it's mu first year

As 17 y.o boy , i can relate this very much to me. All i wanted just let me alone among my burdens and stop to worrying me. I always go to my fav cafe even its far from my house, to restrain myself from crowds. By the name of latte and mozza jazz , the cafe is my best solitude so far. Its very quiet and least people come to there. Evenly its rainy season in my area so its a kind of pleasure to myself (i guess some of you should try this kind of solitude)

this is so relatable. except that I'm not in college, I just happen to have a big loud family, and they constantly remind me of how shitty of a person I can be. But they don't know me, they don't know what I'm going through. (I'm not close with them) I hate it. I can't escape. I also have anxiety so I can't even be myself. I haven't found a place to just calm down and be alone.. I'm always angry because I'm always on the edge... It's so hard, but my siblings have moved away so they won't be staying that long. Want to be with friends, because it's what I need to do as a friend, you can't let them down. I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and spoken word performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my KZfaq channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙

i remember going on a service trip. for 2 weeks I was literally never alone, except when using the bathroom. it was draining. I can't imagine now going to university, or doing a long-term missions trip because I need time daily to just sit and do my thing. It's important to me in order to stay sane. :p

I miss being with my friends now I'm just 100% solitude. I was told that I had anxiety/depression (I have no idea if that's a diagnosis, don't know how it works) I feel very alone with the friends I used to hang out with and can't find the same comfort in speaking with them. Its awful because I dislike being alone in social places because it raises anxiety. I get so mute

I'm a twin living together with my sister in a room when we left for university. Home is 2.5hrs away and it's expensive to travel back. Thus, we only travel back home after 4 months. I've been living away from home for about 2 years now and though I live with my twin sister, I felt like my anxiety is growing serious every single day. Sometimes, I just feel like going home but under the circumstances, I just can't and it leaves me depressed most of the time. Having a twin sister who doesn't understand that I need time alone is even worst. All I could feel is the numbness and as if all I'm allowed to do is to absorb all her opinion and her judgement about me.

I realise that I'm always much calmer and at peace when I'm alone. But at the same time, this causes me to worry that I might lose friends or not be able to find anyone to date. When I try to hang out with certain people, my mind goes blank and I can't maintain good conversations. I keep ending up just in the same small group of friends whom I can talk to most comfortably, it is tough for me to talk to more people outside of my typical circle of friends.

Also do you have a video or pls make a video on the differences of females and males symptoms in aspergers and autism. Because in females I know it's hard to detect because many of the symptoms commonly used to diagnosis these are geared towards the make population. I have heard there are very different symptoms for females in general, like having a multitude of mental illnesses can be a sign of aspergers

I can relate to this so much! When I come home to my room I just want to be alone and left alone, having 3 flatmates makes me anxious and I wish I could live somewhere by myself... university is like 90% of my socializing time!

I made a video about this recently. Solitude is one of the most stimulating experiences I've ever had. "The constant pressure of always being watched, made my anxiety worse." Spoken like a true prodigy.

Yeah, I relate ;) Altrough I'm not yet at the university, I feel pretty much same things, cause I get up very early, hurry to catch a train, which is very full of people, then school, another train, even more full of people, and like half of an hour before all of my family gets home and there is no longer quiet. But I found the way to feel good despite being with too many people everyday. Being alone is a nice way, but not always. Sometimes all I need is to be together. With Kuba

I honestly can't relate to this at all. I spent years in near compete solitude, even when I lived on campus and with a roommate. I had the opposite problem.

For me, solitude normally means my bedroom. At work, however, it's the bathroom. I take a bathroom break every day at work just so I can be alone for a few minutes to recharge a bit and take a breather. I'm an ambivert as well, but my social quota fills up extremely quickly if someone from my circle, my boyfriend especially, isn't there to keep me grounded.

people told me the same thing about college but I had the opposite problem. most of my time was spent in solitude. no friends, no family, no group projects... nothing. my dorm room felt as empty and lifeless as a prison cell. wherever I went I felt like a ghost, in fact I was almost convinced that no one could see me so long as I didn't deliberately draw attention to myself (which always ended badly when I did). I felt lost in the void, and it got to a point where my company became the voices in my head which were never there before. any explanation as to how and or why this would happen? I am genuinely curious

I still love being solitude, and would prefer it. But I learn that humanity has to keep connections to one another....the hard way. Now I can balance both, so I'm pretty happy and content :)
