The younger riders, and some older ones, make fun of how much armor I wear. But at 51 years old, I don't bounce or heal as quick. Armor with rib protection has already saved my bacon in a 35mph into the desert crash back in September. My Leatt 6.5 boots have been incredible and I can walk in them fine. They are heavy though. I went with the Alpinestars top armor with the rib protection and wear the Fox Elbow pads (don't fit muscular arms to well, but do great) and Leatt knee/shin guards. Judging by all of the gouges in the plastic, it's all doing it's job.

Armor is always annoying to wear until it saves your life or saves you from bad injuries and it makes it all worth it.

You're welcome! Well, it's always evolving for me. Next time you're out in the bush stop and think about some scenarios that could occur and build from there. Stay safe amigo!

I bought my 1st dual sport last yr but have been plagued with job related injuries that keep me off the bike currently recovering from a crushed finger incident seems to me i bought the bike for nothing. Hopefully i would be able to enjoy the bike this summer. Thks for this video because im working on putting a solo bav together.

I really enjoy your videos. About a year and ago, I bought a well-worn RE Himalayan. Been watching your channel ever since. Just one comment about your Rev It jacket. Not sure if a camo pattern is ideal especially on the highway. When I was in the military a lifetime ago, riding in BDUs (camo uniform)was highly discouraged. If you did ride in BDUs, a reflective type vest was required. Just my 2 cents.

Great Video. I also ride solo most the time and its good to get prospective what other people are doing.. I need a Garmin inReach..

Thank you, appreciate you watching! The Inreach is a little spendy up front and I pay a monthly service fee of $11. It's totally worth it if you need your bacon saved 100 miles deep in the bush.

I live on the wrong side of the country(NC). We have very little options for riding off-road. There are owners of private land, that are off-road parks….but it gets expensive quick for a family. SUBBED

I may have missed it but what pants do you use? I'm looking for a pair of pants that goes in the boot as well as over the boot and yours looked like they did that.

They are the Rev It Sand 4 H2O pants. Overall they do a good job and have done an excellent job at protection. Pretty warm in the summer but are awesome for the other seasons. Wish they had belt loops.
