First hunting trip of 2024! Solo limit of black ducks while duck hunting over tidal waters in Nova Scotia, Canada! This was a hunt that wasn’t planned and it worked out perfectly. I went out on a low tide in the middle of the day and still managed to shoot my limit of ducks.
Guns used: Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon 3 (12 Gauge Modified/Improved Cylinder).
Ammunition Used: Kent Fasteel+ (3in 2x4Steel Shot).

Thanks for watching! We are allowed 6 black ducks all year, but the last few weeks of the season it switches to four black ducks.

Greetings from Colorado!.....Great video and great content. The comical part is that these ducks keep coming in spite of no camo or anything close to it. These ducks are naive and have not been shot at. Here in Colorado, we totally hide ourselves, put paint on our face to be obscure and they still don't decoy. Good luck my friend & God bless.

Bravo... What cartridge size and weight do you use for Beratta 686 in duck hunting in January?

I was running Kent Fasteel+ in 2x4, which is a mix of #2 and #4 shot. In this configuration I was running a 1 1/4oz load in 3 inch.

Thanks for the comment. Made it a part of the video because it was a part of the hunt. I missed a group of ducks and caught the tail end of it due to the camera messing up. Makes sense to add it to me.

do you find the ducks spook more when the decoys get left high and dry on the falling tide? or do they take no notice and try to land anyway because the lack of soft water around

Honestly, no matter where I hunt and the decoys go dry, I’ve had black ducks try to land with them. If you are where the feed is, the ducks will come and will land on the mud. Thanks for watching!
