As far as I can go in another river solo. Just relaxing in nature. Sleeping on the boat and perfecting my on-boat campfire experience. Camping on the boat (no land camping). Solo adventure, fishing, kayaking, exploring, bird watching, wildlife spotting and nature gazing. Trying a swag shelter on the boat.
Appreciating the silence of the mind, magnificent natural scenery, flora and fauna, with background music provided by the pure sounds of nature. I'm attempting a type of ASMR no talking theme.
Please let me know what you like and what I can improve in the comments.
NO TALKING: The power of being alone has a power and silence few can handle. I do this to regenerate from my busy work life. I rewatch my own videos to re-experience the solitude. I hope you enjoy the same.

hello. i like the videos. your name should be houdini..... just when i think you have no more room on that boat for anything else, bam, you pull out a huge boat tent assembly, the kayak, the fishing gear, the fuel, the cooking equipt. the food, the solar array. houdini.... keep it up. thanks, its calming and motivating at the same time.

Silent is fine, it means you can reach non English speaking audiences easier. St Wilderness, Bertram and Log Shige are all silent outdoors guys, they all do well. like the kayak, looks like it'll tow well too - not that you're short of room on that huuuge boat 😎👍. Eel is a great bull shark bait. I took our 430 Fishabout pro up to Yeppoon & the Keppel islands last week, getting out on the water keeps us sane 🇦🇺🛥🎣🛶🚤!!!

riveRecon - I don't know if you planned it, but in the section of footage just before the azure kingfisher you could hear them calling🤗👍. I'd love to do Stanage & the bay up there....thing is, the last 100Km is unmade road 🤔😬, that means dust in everything😖. The land fishing at Yeppoon didn't go too well but the wildlife was epic, white bellied sea eagles, wedge tails, buzzards, bee eaters, plum finches, ospreys (everywhere, literally ospreys everywhere!!😊). Because the tide was low & the banks were muddy I got treated to the antics of the mudskippers too😎👍. Yeppoon & Keppels are great but you need to keep an eye on the weather if it's not going to be a flat calm. (Willyweather app & the Met Eye section of BOM - just to look at those winds & wave heights).

Gd to c u drop another vid mate👍 In regards to fishing advice u asked for u probably wood increase ur catch rate if u went a fair bit lighter on ur fishing gear (rods an reels etc) as most of what u used in the vid was probably more suited to offshore fishing? Speaking of that do u take ur big boat out offshore from Noosa as it wood eat it up as I fish a 16’ boat out there in suitable weather of course 👍 Stay safe budd 🤙

Great video. Just curious if you have a lighter rod and reel combo? It would be ideal to flick your surface lures (like the popper you were using). They (in particular the popper) require a different technique to the diving lures. I realise it’s a personal choice but for me the lighter rod combo helps improve technique (generally speaking). I am right handed and have taught myself to cast with the my right hand and reel in with my left hand. Over time this allows for more accurate casting and faster to set the hook if a fish attacks the lure as it hits the water. Again it’s a personal choice… I am also very interested in your boat setup. Bimini top etc. any chance you can do a review on your setup? Cheers for the great fishing vids!

which tent structure did you like the best. it seems to me that the full tent would be best for bugs and comfort but a pain to set up and take down and also to have clearance to set the thing up. the one you used that when over the front of the boat kind of like a lean too was much easier to set up and give good enough protection from the elements and the fact that you could leave it up if your not going to fast on the boat was a real plus, what is your experienced opinion.
@riveRecon
@riveRecon 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching John! The tarp over the bow is great for room and more wind shelter. Hardest to set up though. The Swag/Tent I use lately has the room and good amount of space, keeps the bugs (and bats) out, easier to set up and I can travel at speed better than the bow tent. I can also access the bow easily with the tent set up. I still have some tweaking/experimenting to do 😀

I went into the upper Noosa river from BoreenPoint point last week. However we had a devil of a job getting in. Too shallow between the markers as shown on the council map so because we didn’t know better we ended up on the far side of the lake trying to find a way in around the back of the island. Needless to say I ended up walking/pulling the boat across an almost endless sandbank. Getting back after a day up the river was also an adventure and I now need a new prop. Oops. Anyway, do you have any tips ? Should I have hugged the western coast up from boreen point boat ramp? Should I have stayed on the left and entered past the visitor centre? I’d love to hear your thoughts as your boat is bigger than mine and you obviously have little trouble getting in. Thanks in advance , rich
@riveRecon
@riveRecon 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, Sounds like you had a hard day and sorry to hear you damaged your prop. It is tricky to enter this area, even following the channel markers. I could write a whole article on it! Some things that might help: You'll see my navigation advice markers here - bit.ly/3Am3odU. Looking at this map, I've placed notes and pictures on how to enter this area. This video - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o8uDZpOWzcXJZoE.html has detailed footage on the approach and navigation. Some key considerations: Wind from the North make it even shallower - couple this with low tide (About opposite to that of Noosa Heads) and it gets really shallow. My boat draft is 25cm with outboard up and trolling motor down. The channel is really only a boat width wide - slight deviation and you're grounded. The main channel markers to the "pipes" for markers is the trickiest part and you need to follow a curve, not a straight line (See the map marker notes). Once in this area - logs are the next thing to keep an eye out for, even in the channels! There are many logs pointing straight up and just below the surface. Go slow and outboard up as high as you can to keep it safe and save money on props. I hope that helps.
