Have you ever been looking for a build so easy and simple you can just press a few buttons and be good to go? This build is so easy it might just be the perfect introduction build for those who don’t play thief, myself included. This solo condi deadeye build has everything you could need to make short work of just about any challenge making you wonder if you are playing Guild Wars 2 on easy mode!

About what I expected when I saw "open world deadeye". A couple of suggestions: Gameplay-wise, if it's not going to get you clobbered, it's good to Cloak and Dagger (dagger 5) and then Backstab (stealth attack) after Maleficent Seven triggers (or to really be a pro about it, use Cloak and Dagger to trigger M7). This allows refreshing Malice without using your utilities, so you can save them for emergencies or trade them for something that grants damage or a CC like a venom. For a ranged weapon on a condi build, I'd go with shortbow (for multiple opponents) or scepter (for a single opponent). Pistol/dagger and axe/dagger also work, but both involve a "skirmishing" approach where you go into melee before backing off again, and I'm inclined to think that if I'm going into melee on this sort of build, I'm probably switching to dagger/dagger anyway.

I've used this build a fair bit for soloing bosses as a thief main and utility skills are absolutely necessary for generating stealth. M7 initiative gain needs to fully feed your dagger 3 spam or else you'll quickly find yourself experiencing awkward downtime with no initiative where you're getting clobbered. Cloak and dagger is just far too expensive to be using as your primary stealth source for this build. C&D is better for power builds that aren't as initiative hungry. I use Cantrip elite for stealth as well as stolen skills + mercy to generate more stolen skills/reset initiative.

@@clammyglobe365 You can usually get away with at least using Cloak and Dagger occasionally, which takes pressure off your utilities. Shadow Meld still has a 25s count recharge time, for instance. Stolen skills are probably going to be where close to half of your stealth generation is going to be coming from either way.

I started liking thief only after it got access to the axe: with it, it seems to fare well against permastealth thiefs too!

As a thief main I really hate dagger dagger 3. I wish they would rework it

I hate it too I want it to be physical dmg skill it would’ve been perfect for the rest of the skill.

full berserker, perma quickness, heal from crits, the range and perma thieves guild >>> whatever this is, all day, every day.

"Thief didn't seem to have much self sustain" ohh boy.. for years and years the thief trait that heals you on criticals used to be completely busted, giving you 25% of your crit damage back as healing :D For those times, I'm arguing that thief had THE MOST self sustain of all professions :D Playing a deadeye with rifle, you never needed to stack with the group for instanced content, and would usually outlive the rest of the group by just squatting in a corner, doing dps..

Ah yes the dagger deadeye. Thief was my first level 80 character and this is very similar to the build I was playing. Except no celestial gear since I was a broke noob and I blew my level boost on another character I ended up deleting (I know I'm stupid you don't have to tell me)

It was good till i saw celestial :/. Im tired of celetal gear. I want an open world build I can bring into raids and fractals and not have to worry bout constant regearing/gear swaps. I am not in legendary or made of gold T_T, and despite what multiple streamers have told me, no one just hands out gold.

You can use celestial gear to play alac dps or alac heal specter. Snowcrows has open world builds that makes it easy to transition into instanced PvE builds.

I mean.. the game hands out ascended gear these days, it's not too hard to swap. You can run full vipers but you're going to have to play well. Don't complain if you keep dying.

well I mean to be fair raids, fractals and open world are all completely different content. raid and fractal gear like berserkers and vipers is always gonna be inherently squishy cause its reliant on a healer. you can run raid gear in open world ur just sacrificing a lot of personal survivability and comfortablity. it’s only really ritualist builds or celestial builds are gonna mitigate that. if you want something that is the same equipment for every thing I would look into condi alac scourge, condi quick firebrand, condi alac renegade, condi alac specter, condi alac mechanist, condi alac tempest currently im enjoying power pistol pistol dead eye for clearing stuff quickly and condi alac specter for doing solo champions, both use same gear as raids. pistol pistol rifle deadeye just clears trash so quickly, the ranged dps is great in map completion. and condi alac specter is just extremely tanky cos of shroud from necro which gives you another health bar that also gives barrier from shroud skills. but ya power deadeye is an amazing kill things quick option, condi alac specter for solo champs/hot hps. would recommend
