YEA DAWGIES Welcome back to another video.
I head out on a solo fishing mission with a catch and cook video on my mind.
Trying some new FDYS jigs which slay some of the best eating fish in the sea, I end up making some delicious fish burgers with these incredible fresh fish I catch. enjoy!

Fun fact- Baldchin groper are one of the smartest fish in the sea and are known to use tools to get food. Well so David Attenborough said... Three strawberry gropers mate that's coraly ground there. Good name for the jigs. Mad Dawgs.

Fun fact- Classed as a vulnerable/recovering They also easily suffer from barotrauma. 2 fished “claimed” to be released, with there gut pushed out from pressure, very unlikely to survive. I’m no saint, but not best practice to release if size from those depths.

I wonder whether you have tried bleeding those fish as soon as you catch them? Here in Newfoundland, Canada, we have found that cutting the throats will bleed out the fish, resulting in whiter fillets. Give it a try. Has Dawgies' Delight been taken for the lure?

Cutting the throat is not as effective as cutting the gills/behind the gills. Just a heads up

@@b45t3t9 Thanks, I will try it. Some of the flatfish, like turbot, sole or halibut, we "bobtail" by cutting across the tail, so they bleed out there. Otherwise if there is blood trapped in the fish, the fillets will be an off-yellow colour. I noticed that there was some red/pink in the Baldchin fillet, altho most of it was white. Thanks for the gill trick,

Right! Tzatziki is a traditional mix of yoghurt, small pieces of cucumber and garlic. In Greece we tend to escort our fried fish filets with garlic sauce cause they match perfectly . Keep up amazing videos down under dawg!

Those bald chin groper you're catching are of the parrot or tusk fish family. Catching tuskies on the east coast is great and they taste delicious.. however they are required in the reefs almost moreso than other species as they help restore dying coral habitats.

Name for your jiggy jig,, Western FDGD03. Elaborated to: Western Field Days Girthy Dog 03. Obviously your fishing somewhere on the west coast. Your name sake. Girthy because you mentioned this jig is slightly thicker than the first 2 models. Dog because it's now part of our dogies family. And 03 because it's the 3rd of your jigs. BTW love what you do.
