Solo Hot Tent Camping with Wood stove during Autumn

Winter winds and cold temperatures. Alone hot tent camping in the forest using my wood stove for heat. I headed out on the ATV deep into the Canadian wilderness looking for a place to setup camp for the night. I found a place in a pine forest that had lots of dry wood to cut and burn. I used the Agawa Boreal 24” saw to do the hard work. After setting up the Pomoly Hex tipi hot tent I installed the wood stove and lit the fire. I built a campfire outside and cooked up some salmon, asparagus and shrimp on the bitty big Q grill and cast iron pan. In the morning I cooked bacon, eggs and coffee on the wood stove inside the warm tent and enjoyed a flyby of some Canadian geese.

Hey buddy ! Loved the video ! That was one beautiful stove ! I sure wish Pomoly was around OR I knew about them before I bought my g-Stove, I love how it folds down small..... I need that on my ATV trips haha that stove of mine is big and bulky. (Saying that I love it, it's built super good ! The food looked great ! and loved that solar charger, good stuff man, keep up the great work. can't wait to go for a camping trip together.

The G stove was on my list but pomoly came into the picture. The way it folds down makes it great for a hike into a location also. Yes we'll have to get a winter camp in soon!! Get the hot tents rocking and some beers going around the campfire. LOL. Be a great time dude!!

I love how small all the titanium stoves are, but I feel like there is no way they will last with frequent use. For something seemingly disposable they are just too damn expensive for me lol

When i'm on the ATV I don't mind taking a few extra things to be comfortable. Don't have to worry so much about weight. Still have some good old rough camps coming up though. I like to mix it up. Hope your having a good one!.

Buddy, your getting a nice set up going....everything fits nice and easy on the 570. I’m liking it. Rocking some new gear too.....I would like a o light but man they are cheap for a flashlight lol, I guess if I stopped buying crap for the canned ham I could get one lol. I thought you was going to get attacked by the flying goose military......they sure was making some honks , good thing you had cover or the bombs might of dropped lol.

@@JoshuaGammon YES! My faith has been restored! - lol - I thought for sure it was instant when you stirred it. You'll get better flavor if you let it settle to the bottom on its own. After you put the grounds in, put it back on the stove for a second or 2 until it rolls and then set it on the table and let the grounds fall to the bottom. You'll have way better coffee my friend.

Great video and glad you had the chance to get out and try new gear. The stove box looks awesome, but that chimney design needs work... any option to get sectional pieces that go together and then fit inside each other for storage? We have a lot of pine in northern Arizona... soft wood but smells nice when it burns, and the temperature is easy to control for cooking. You know, for packing everything in on the Polaris, you put together some solid meals that came together nicely and looked delicious. Neat area by the water and how cool to hear coyote and geese... one of the good memories you'll have while camping. Take care and be well, my friend! Pete - KI7LIL

You could get different stove pipe but it packs down so small. Now that the first burn is done it's not going to be hard at all. The pine has a nice smell for sure. Always got to bring the good food. It's the best part. Have a good one Peter.

All I am thinking is that ATV ride had to take forever to do. Its alot of work to film that lol. Great video and love the new stove!

@@JoshuaGammon me too bud! I think I am going to make my camping videos, just ATV camping and kayak camping only and throw hunting and fishing along with it. You have i have pretty well the same idea for a channel. Lol. There isn't many channels that do ATV camping besides maritimer, you and myself. We all have a good niche going here. Hopefully in the future we could all team up and drive across Newfoundland on the ATVs and make a series. The old rail road Starts in my hometown in Placentia and ends off in Port aux Basques. You can drive on the ferry and drive off and would start the trip right away!

Nice video. I noticed that you also have the Pomoly Fort tent. Different designs, but is there one that you prefer? I have the Pomoly Hussar which is great but was also looking at the Hex or Fort for a little more room when needed. Thanks.

Hey Michael. This one is the Hex. I like the Hex because it's the middle ground. Not to big, not to small. It all depends on what your looking for in a tipi tent.

Hey Mitchell. No the gloves were fine after. I'm sure if I ran my hand down the edge that might be a different story. I did it without glove once already and no cuts. LOL.

Thanks for taking us on this great trip! Awesome setup you have :) I'm also looking into the tents and stoves. What do you think of the Pomoly Manta tent shape? It's basically the same as your Hex plus just with the two doors next to each other instead of on opposite sides. I'm leaning towards the Manta though am not super sure. It's a bit difficult to imagine how things would be with several people in there, the stove and so on. And also, what do you think of the canvas material, since this tent is anyways not for hiking I would rather like to go for that heavy more natural fabric. What are your thoughts about it?

I don't have the manta. If you need the space and you are care camping maybe that's you best bet. So far all the other pomoly products I have are great.

Yes two adults for sure with stove. We slept my wife, daughter and me during the summer no problem but no stove. There's a bigger version of this tent on Pomoly's website if you need more room.

@@JoshuaGammon Thank you for the reply. I looked at the Hex Plus (bigger version). It looks a bit too bulky for my needs. If i'm not wrong, you have the "T1 Perspective" stove right? Is it too much for the Hex tent you have? May be too much heat? Why did you choose the bigger stove over the T1Mini? Thank you for helping me make my decision.

Got 14 awards & certificates at graduation last week. Winner of the National History challenge. Looked such a grown up young woman at her formal. The time goes so quick.
