I wasn't angry THAT it was ending, only that it fell far short of the perfection I expected and there's no ninth season to rectify anything.

They butchered this mans character. Jaime had the greatest character arc in the entire show up until episode 4 of Season 8. There is absolutely no justification for their decision to demolish everything that they built toward and foreshadowed. I feel bad for NCW because he was amazing in his role didn't deserve to have his ending ruined.

Nikolai, "subverting expectations" by not doing what seems "obvious" is not always quality writing. Yes, you can subvert expectations. But it must make sense in terms of the story and character development. I would take the obvious over having my expectations subverted if that's what makes some sense.

-I'd have whooped it up if Jaime killed Cersei. I loved or would have loved a lot of things I predicted or saw coming or wanted to take place, provided they were done brilliantly. GRRM said it...you can't change your story just because people correctly predict what's going to happen. Surprise for surprise's sake is not what you're after. -Poor Edmure, I would've picked him over Bran. -I did not see that twincest scene as rape, only conflict in Cersei because it "wasn't right," whereas he didn't give a fig. Not that I give one about her anyway... -Go fetch Tormund, Brienne; I doubt he'll hold much of a grudge over you picking the wrong guy at first. ;p -"I'll tell ya what I want, what I really really want...but you're gonna have to read my longarse blog."

Its funny. The whiners didnt bother to watch this video. They only watch interviews they believe stoke their pathetic opinions. Listen to this man. He enjoyed the ending. So did I . So did millions. It was rushed. Big deal! Believe it or not most of the people working on this massive 10 year labor were ready to move on. It was dark. Yeah thats what the night kings power is. Deal with it. Not every story has a neat happy ending. You kids will learn that as you go.

@@maverickassasin1514 But they wouldn't have seen the compression HBO uses when delivering the product to over the air and streaming. All networks compress the final video down as standard practice. What D&D would have seen is what will be on the blu-ray which is the final edited/compression settings that the director preferred. We as an audience never get to 100% see how the director intended it in either film or television until we purchase the blu-ray.

love him ofc but this is just an acting role to him, wish he was more immersed in the show, that being said ill never forget you as Jamie Lannister Nikolaj!. The way he talks about S8 is that everyone was just burnt out and could hardly go on. Ran out of steam when the finalale needed to be so great, how can you say it wasn't rushed there was water bottles and coffee cups in the scenes ffs !

I think the show ended the way it ended because of those theories or predictions that came in the internet. If I am the writer I'll also want to end it in a way that no one has ever thought because it will going to be obvious and indeed that would be the people will rant if ever. Saying "It's too obvious!" Except the writers apparently had outlines already and fan theories had nothing to do with it. Considering the stories of their unprofessional behaviour (from writers and directors) and the fact they were offered more episodes and seasons to spread everything out better, it’s clear that D&D are just hacks. They wanted to subvert expectations? People expected a good ending, so mission accomplished.

it ended precisely the way grrm intended. too fast, too dark, coffee cups notwithstanding. as ramsey told you all so many many seasons ago, if you think this has a happy ending you are watching the wrong tv show.
