Since my first video outlining a variety of solo miniature games, publishers have been busy making more! I've looked at a few of them, and wanted to share some brief thoughts on them with y'all. Feel free to chime in with your own favorites below.

One wargame featuring solo play rules that’s fairly recent is Joseph McCullough’s the Silver Bayonet: A Wargame of Napoleonic Gothic Horror from Osprey Games. I’ve painted up the First British Unit and the First French Unit, (which I gave to my younger brother along with the rulebook, hoping that we will soon be able to play together.) The idea between co-op play and solo play is brilliant: in co-op play you will be playing, say, the British or the Russians, while your opponent might be playing the French or the Prussians. You will both be trying to get your hands on magical artifacts that may help in the fight against “the Harvestmen,” (the beings who are responsible for the rise of the vampires, werewolves, ghouls, etc.) But, in solo play, it’s simply your unit vs. the monsters. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes either Napoleonic history, (although there’s not much in the area of actual history in the game,) or classic gothic horror stories such as Frankenstein, (which, ironically was written during the Napoleonic era,) or Dracula.

Nice Work, great video: I would also mention others worth looking at: Fear of the Dark, The New Nightwatch: Blood & Bone from Patrick Todoroff, Vyrmhack from Feral Indie, Brutality, Forbidden Psalm, and Sellswords & Spellslingers.

In addition to the above, other solo mini games that I've acquired lately: Insurgent Earth (alien invasion in a modern setting), Warlord Ascendant (dark low-magic fantasy), Nightwatch: Blood and Bone (fantasy monster hunting) and Chrome Hammer Ascension (Cyber-fantasy like Shadowrun).

Surprised you didnt cover Zombicide! Great game you can play solo or with others. Has tons of versions with expansion for each core version. Also comes with minatures and a game board! So no fiddling trying to buy extra things

I got County Road Z and it looks really fun, especially the base building part. I haven't played it yet as I'm very slowly getting all the terrain ready, but I'm hoping by the time I'm done with that I'll be most of the way towards being able to play Don't Look Back and Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. I hadn't heard of The Doomed before, I'll have to check that out.

I have been playing the solo expansion for Relicblade, Catacombs of Kural. It's tough as heck, but quite a lot of fun. Also, not sure if this really counts, but I have been playing a lot of Hero Quest with the app playing the Evil Wizard. It's pretty basic, but very nostalgic and very easy to get a game together.

bug hunt sounds great. I don't care for character backgrounds and story building. I like objectives and a good solid rule set. However I like the the whole credit system when jumping from turn to turn in 5 Par Secs.

It's primarily solo, but I know there has been expansion material to incorporate other players. One of the expansion books has pvp rules.

Il throw snap ship tactics as a nice miniature solo game out there . Somewhat like a solo Star Wars x wing

What's recommended for someone who doesn't yet know if she likes miniatures games and therefore has none yet? I prefer SciFi over fantasy but will try either

Maybe a little late but you can just use paper "miniatures". Google it, there are free samples.
