Great stuff Charlie, I’m sixty eight years old and still learning. Started at about nine years old. Played shows all over the globe but never leaned the pentatonic scales or triads . It’s a wonderful thing. Thank you sir for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. ❤

My main take away was even that Ive known that Eminor pentatonic for 100 years I did not have a clue how to use it with regards to knowing the different chord tones and how to use it. Another excellent lesson as always thanks again.

@@CharlieLongGuitar Thanks for the reply, my comment was the truth, have always just noodled with the penta scale and always wondered if there was some magic trick as I was aware there was something missing as always ended up in a rut. Your vids have shown me how very little I actually knew and I am an improving player and my enjoyment is more for it. Genuine thanks I owe you bigtime cheers again.

Great video, adding this to my guitar lessons playlist. I loved the end bit, where you had just skillfully played numerous scales over a progression, and then end it with the good old pentatonic. It just sounds so great haha.

Uhh, this was out of my pay grade, but not for long. Your explanations were simply brilliant and while I am just learning how to start, you threw down an instruction manual and I can get to work. Merci beaucoup.

It's interesting to realize, I've been playing guitar so long that I'm a rather technical player without knowing it....all this stuff comes out naturally from me but I just don't know all the words for it. Everything you said confused me except for when I heard the guitar.

Great lesson, thank you! A non central gear question. At the beginning you expose the chords with a clean sound that sounds like an acoustic guitar. Is this some kind of modeling or do you have piezos under the bridge saddles -- or both? Very decent acoustic sound for a solid-body guitar.

Great question - no piezo. I believe that was a Tonex capture of a Fender Deluxe Reverb with the gain turned WAY down. Neck pickup is a Dimarzio Cruiser which is a humbucker but still very “Stratty”
