I love you're KZfaq channel brother probably my favorite one you keep it real and very educational I am an Outdoorsman but I did not serve in the military my question to you is when I see you set up tents without a bottom in it how come you don't just throw down a cheap tarp they sell camouflage ones at Walmart just wondering I can't stand laying on the bare ground myself once again keep up the good work Soldier

I agree sleeping directly on the ground sucks. Plus it can be dangerous due to your body heat being sucked away. If you notice Corporal almost aways uses a sleeping mat. Just like we used in the Corps. In his usual videos he would utilize a browse (?) Bed. Two 55 gal drum liners filled with debris. This would keep him off the ground.

In 5 years, there won't even be cattle. No more beef. It's going to be too damn hot from global warming. But I agree with you. The corporal sure cooks up a nice-looking steak in the woods on a grill with just a bed of coals from sticks. Buy some steaks now. Prices are coming down from all the farmers selling off their herds. Next year a steak will cost so much more. Steak will be a luxury for the middle class very soon.

Yer vids are always fads for the lads & curls for the girls. Would be awesome to see you do a series on Tentsmiths 8x8 configurations. Not many of those floating around on YT. Yes! Hickory smoke Spam. My favorite! And the favorite of discriminating bears everywhere. Last time I cooked a batch a bear stopped by and tried to bully some for himself. It didn't work and he went away without any, but he tried to come into camp a couple of times. Each time getting a bit more aggressive. Silly bear didn't realize all the Spam had already been eaten and he was dangerously close to me popping off a round in his general direction. That tarp configuration is my favorite. The only drawback is during bug season. I've toyed with the idea of bringing a chunk of mosquito netting to cover the entrance with, but wondered if the skeeters would find their way under the bottom edges of the shelter? I'll have to give it a try and see how it works out.

I wasn't going to leave this comment, but then you showed your tattoo. It looks great, by the way. Last year, I went through a medicl scare and was home-bound for almost 6 months. Durring that time I discovered your channel had have enjoyed it every week without fail. I have enjoyed doing activities withthe SCA in the past which included camping for events and quickly evolved into trying to medieval-style rough-it for those events. Now my closest friends all do a Viking camp every year and since I'm in great helth again I'm going to join them using some of my long-past medieval knowledge and some new-found tarp-tent tricks I've learned from you. I have a cotton canvas from (local discount hardware store) that I am going to water-proof soon using some aincient ingredients. Mostly wax and pitch. As you have a Viking-inspired tattoo, I figured that kind of bushcrafting might be right up your alley, so might I suggest a medieval or viking style bushcraft camp for a future video? Anyway, yours is one of my all-time favorite channels, so thanks for continuing to bring them every week.

If it's not raining we aren't training, also had a ribeye for chow. Have to try spam again, been a very long time, do you have a deal with them (promo)? If I were going to take the weight penalty for canned food it would be corned beef(personal preference). How about showing site after clean up as to well it can be restored to natural conditions-tread lightly and opsec.

Shawn- It’s hard to find a square, affordable tarp. What is the best configuration for tents using rectangular tarps? Maybe you can show Medium Sized Dude setting up various versions ?

truly enjoyed your set up of the tarp/tent. Excellent way of doing it, especially when most would only maybe come up with something lesser and settle for less. Thank you, sir.

That's a great tarp configuration, looks as good as a store-bought tent

Yep there it is the rain.now a thought. You have been fishing a bit. Have you thought of starting a worm bed central to your several stream side camps.or better yet near the watch tower along with a a bit of corn planted at the edges. No dear would dareaproach. Softened. Earth grass leaves vegetable left overs layered .(any animal skate around helps) Next season. Worms to fish with all the time. Great build as usual.

An outdoor Chanel hosted by a young couple. Has been demonatised because the lovely young woman dug potatos in a bikini, she is beautiful. Her husband could be a recruiting Poste for the Corps. Take heart you are still on.

Hey Corporal was watching a video today from, Way Point Survival and he did a Thrift store challenge similar to yours. And I got to thinking in Ohio we live in the Yard Sale Capital of the World 😁 LOL. What do you think about a Yard Sale Challenge where you shop for gear, for an overnight via Yard Sales?? It could be cool, never know what you're bound to find. I am a big fan and I love your videos I have watched them all or as many as I can find.
