After seeing the sled and having problems with deep snow in my area, I would love to see the corporal make some diy bushcraft snowshoes to make the travel even easier. Heck. I wouldn’t mind an entire episode regarding different ways to make travel easier. He can link to the videos where he makes a frame packs and wood hauling cinches all he wants but lessons on traversing snow, mud, deeper water, ice, and hilly terrains all using items from the environment would be pretty interesting

@@SalP123c luckily for me I bought wood the day before. Luckily we didn't get hit with both issues the same day. When the waterline cruise up we collected snow to boil then filtered it through my shemaghs to get drinking water. Then when our power went out our water was back. I managed to build a fire outside and cooked us food. I took some extra time to split some of the wood for the future and used this vase and candle trick from one of the older videos to keep us warm. All in all we were pretty well off. Luckily it didn't go on for too long but I have the utmost confidence that I could keep my family relativity comfortable until everything finally got back to normal.

After everything that happened in Texas this winter, I have seriously thought about buying one of these tent stoves for emergencies. Set it up in a large room on tiles, run the pipe out a window, block the area around the pipe with metal flashing or even a couple of baking sheets cut to fit. You'd be able to keep a large room warm and save a few lives.

UPS tossed one of my packages out on the side of the road 200 yards from my house on Saturday. No snow or ice it had all melted by then. Left it on the ground under the mailbox. My neighbor saw it about noon on Sunday. They have been here before and often. They had delivered packages of Friday to the front porch. Amazon must not of been notified of delivery because I received no email confirmation of the delivery. I called Amazon, I went on Amazon live chat as they were the shippers. I called UPS and I went on UPS and filed a complaint. Tossing a package out on the side of the road is completely unacceptable. At least USPS gets my mail in the mailbox.

I agree. I would rather seem him building shelters, building fires under different and difficult constraints, fishing (catching bigger fish someday, I hope), reviewing different gear (including backpacts, boats, kayaks and canoes), showing us navigational skills using a real topological or other map for where he is, and anything else (such as archery), rather than sharing on KZfaq the killing of deer or other land animals, although I know that is part of survival training. I'm sure I will be able to learn how to set traps for certain types of animals, but I can't imagine me using a trap or other means to actually kill a deer, moose, rabbit, chipmunk, or squirrel where I live presently (I have no qualms about killing and eating snakes, armadillos, alligators (by others; I won't even get close to them), or other reptiles, though). It would be different if I actually lived off the grid, such as in a wild part of Alaska or Canada. And I can pluck feathers from a dead chicken or wild turkey and cook game after it has been cleaned. It's one thing to know HOW to kill and butcher or clean an animal if necessary to survive, and another thing to really do it before the time comes when it is actually a survival necessity; that, I cannot do.

Extremely informative! Well done. If I was to give one input, it would be to place the item you are going to hit with the axe on the chopping block, on the far side away from you on it, so that you have as much chopping block as possible available to catch the axe. Hope it makes sense, english is not my first language :-)

Shawn, thanks so much for this video. I’ve been looking at getting a hot tent and small wood stove like that for a while. I know it’s not like your normal solo overnighter in the woods but as usual your content and reviews of gear are spot on. Thanks again.

I like your Videos. In Germany is it not so easy to build such nice Bushcraft peojects, without own wood ground. It is great that you work with minimal gear. Stay healthy

Kelly, it’s good to see a fellow jarhead showing the in and outs of survival living out in the field. I found your video by accident but I’m glad I did. Your knowledge of the knots are really outstanding, I would be grateful when you go through that process you would verbally go through the process as well so that knowledge could be passed on as well. Please don’t give up on this for the sake of your viewers cause this knowledge is so appropriate right now. Peace and love my fellow brother be with you as well as your loved ones. Semper Fi !!!!!!

Sir Respectfully, when I was 16 yearss old my bestest friend, he taught me something important... Here's what my Marine Sgt for NJROTC taught me. When you feel depressed by other's, like your floating with yourself up to water noise high.... Give yourself the power to not give those who get you down the power to do that, considering the sources & adapting to a positive outlook, it's harder" sometimes, but we don't give up, we get some, & keep marching forward, I know I've been picked on / Called Jr Marine, but that's okay, I take the title to heart & it feels good, NJROTC Hoorah" & Semper Fi Sir~ P.s.s~ If it wasn't for you, alot of the time I'd have been in trouble, I learned alot from you that I wouldn't have learned if it wasn't for your Sir.... outstanding / awesome channel, & yes sir, your a good role model & outstanding survivalist & Bushcraft man, I never had any real influences to teach me anything, so I had to adapt, improvise & overcome alot, & also, Thank you for all of your videos Sir, thank you sincerely for everything Sir... Respectfully / Sincerely. Signed: Paul~

@@paul-wade-hampton6766 yes! It can be used as excitment in agreement for example: "listen up Marines...no PT this morning! Get some chow and come back for formation so we can get our libo brief." Marines would most likely respond with a Loud YUT!

I've been a huge fan of the hot tent in theory, have never owned one or tried one. I live in the northeast, and a combo like this tent and folding stove would be an excellent option. It looks like you can keep yourself warm for 8 hours of sleep, with a relatively small harvest of wood and sticks set inside the tent. If it's good enough for you, it's good enough for me.
DEFINITELY NOT HAPPENING ON MY WATCH! 😒
