i finally did what i love to do more than anything else when i travel, more than seeing the sights, and thats just walking around and interacting with locls, by myself! Baghdad was no different than anywhere else ive been! Of course people were surprised to se me walking along the street talking to my camera, but everyone was so friendly. They asked me to join them for tea, one lovely man even bought my tea for me. We did our best to communicate with the language barrier, its happens so many times in different countries to me that its really not a problem, its all part of the experience! there were the funny guys as always , the tailor, the guy that decided to be my cameraman ..all good fun! I felt perfectly safe, ant these are the moment that make it all worth it for me! thanks for watching
( i found out what the funny guy was saying lol , all just fun)

The Iraqies that wish to leave, only feel like that because the situation is getting more difficult since 1980. The reality is, Iraqies who go and live abroad (and some of them make a good life) miss Iraq so much in their hearts. The laughters and joy with the friends and family cannot be felt in other countries. Iraq is a very rich country in all things, it has everything, but also lots of problems.

I remember I met Italian group in Saddam's time , they told as that we have not speak with them or any visitors for security reasons, we didn’t lawed to speak with Russian or others . I met Russian man he said nobody like to talk with him. The reason people were scared and thy didn’t like go get arrested free that . After that we had war and economic block . People couldn’t meet visitors and after that war and civil war… that’s why people in Iraq love to talk with visitors always. They are very interested to know others .

Hello emma ,welcome to iraq,i hope you enjoyed travailing in this neighborhood,go and check other baghdad neighborhoods or areas such as aladhamiya and alkadhmya ,very nice places ,and if you stayed till Friday you can visit almutanaby street where you could find the book stores and musicians and artists gathering around, this place holds many of the baghdad old heritage ,and in the end of the day you can buy some nice memorial gift 🎁🪆from the sellers out there❤️hope you a nice stay in iraq💜

Nice to see you taking around your hotel ... This area was very touristic and high level people before 90's with the best grand hotels at some distance from your hotel... also top tip, take a PHOTO of the NAME of the hotel once you arrive and buildings next to it. It will help locals find your location when you need to get back. Sometimes hotel names are written different than what you book in English online. Especially true for developing Asian countries.
