As a helpful to know, it’s opening of the 8th gate that kills the user. Lee opened up to the 5th gate, so he was just exhausted. Like you said in the first few episodes NEVER Expect that someone is dead on the first hit. The most used jutsu is the substitution Jutsu and there are so many versions of it.

the eight gates are less like super sayian and more like the kaiyoken, if the drawbacks of the klaiyoken actually mattered. the whole fight is the goku VS vegeta moment of naruto, only these guys don' have senzu beans or dragonballs to fix injuries like this.

The reason lee turned red when he opened the chakra gates is because his blood was literally boiling. I don't even wanna know how painful having your own blood boiling inside of you would be. Lee must have truly known pain in that moment.... Hehe know pain...

I really wish the Naruto vs Kiba fight was animated better, but they really had to budget for the Lee vs Gaara fight. Both could have been really cool, but I also appreciate that they show Naruto struggling so much because he JUST got to the tower after the forest part of the exam, fighting almost non stop after waking up from Orochimaru's seal, which also seems to be messing him up.

The thing is that Sakura, unlike the other genin, does not come from a ninja clan. All she has when it comes to ninja training is the academy, while everyone else has their clan's jutsu. Except for Naruto, but he's MC and has the fox inside him. That's why she always felt inferior.

Rock Lee challenged Sasuke before even officially registering for the exam, so he never broke any rules by fighting him outside the exam

There are different types of clone jutsu, they can be broken down into two categories. Illusory and physical. for example the clone jutsu taugh in the academy is illusory while the shadow clone or waterclone we first see in the land of waves arc are physical clones. so the clones that Sakura uses @27:00 are illusions. just a little piece of info

Rock Lee vs Gaara is a top tier fight and one of my favourites of the series ,but Lee should've won 😅 but the series needed Gaara to win for the progression of the story

The thing that makes the naruto Series so great is, that there are so manny Big side charecters with intigret backstories. And that is why even the fillers are great, it is a place where we Can get to see more of our other favorite charecters like: Hinata, Shikamaru, Gaara, Tenten and Rock Lee.

In Japanese, the names of the eye powers are cool sounding, but a little less exciting, transliterated. Gan just means eye Sharingan, itself, more or less means 'copy wheel eyes' (pulled from words like shashin, utsutsu, and shasei, the kanji pulls a word part that is used in yubiwa/kubiwa) Mangekyou just means kaleidoscope, so the mangekyou sharingan basically means "copy wheel kaleidescope eyes" Byakugan just means 'white eyes'. I think what's important is that they SOUND cool, so now that you know that fun fact, toss it out of your head and just enjoy the way it hits your ears haha.
