Car was beeping 5 times and not unlocking the drivers door. Found adhesive in lock lever where cable attaches.

I am having the same issue on my 2020 Crosstrek passenger front door. The door lock does not unlock when putting your hand on the door handle nor if you unlock with the key fob. You have to manually unlock the door by the inside by pulling the handle. I will have to try this hoping that is my issue.

I’m having the same issue. Dealership says it the actuator for 348 bux.

I've got this on my passenger door. Going to try. Dealership can't solve it (interestingly both times I've been they've solved the problem but it lasts a week and comes back. Maybe they jiggled it a bunch to loosen it?). What did you use to clean it, just a solvent or?

I had to started with a tooth pick to pick all the heavy stuff out then moved to a Q Tip with rubbing alcohol. Once you are certain all of the adhesive has been removed, you can put a light coat of lubricant on the ball at the end of the cable and or in the socket on the door handle where the cable snaps in. I used a silicone grease but you could use white lithium or even Vaseline. You don't need much, just a light film. Good luck.

Yes. I never had the issue again.

Very Similar issue. But my door had to be locked to give me any trouble. However, I could see the same thing happening like you are seeing. I would pull the door panel and make sure there is no adhesive gumming things up.
