Күн бұрынThe biggest issue we saw with our new BMW M1000RR was the heat!
This bike gets hot, to an uncomfortable level. The BrenTuning Flash already helped bring the temps down, but we want to take it a step further. How are we doing that?
We are using Samco hoses and a line cooler!
So why Samco hoses? The silicone material used dissipates heat at a much better rate compared to the standard rubber hoses that come from factory. And, with the Line Cooler, we'll have an additional cooling section to further bring down the temps.
This is one of those simple jobs, but highly effective. We do end up losing some coolant, but we just refill it with BMW's OEM coolant. Nothing beats OEM for reliability and consistency, which is what we want at this stage of the build.

Your coolant is going to flow in the system even with a closed thermostat, it still allows for some flow in the closed position. Spend the money and get a "UView 550000 Airlift" tool, you can check for leaks when it's pulled a vacuum and you can fill it without introducing air into the system afterwards. The amount of time you save not having to do multiple heat cycles trying to figure out if you have bled the system completely is worth it.

You did great work. I’m shocked that it overheats. I would bleed it one more time after a good 5/10 minute ride.

The bike doesn't overheat, it just runs hotter than it did in previous model years. It also runs hotter than the 2023 S1000RR. So we want to get it running cooler with these upgrades; the BrenTuning flash already helped bring down the temps, and this will help it further And yes, that is our plan. We'll keep monitoring the coolant until we know it's all good!

the main issue you have with the temp is that the coolant has glycol as your using anti freeze coolant

An M1000RR using the same coolant from 1 year before consistently runs 20 F cooler.

Since you cut the samco hose for the in-line cooler- would we need to purchase 2 additional clamps?

Yes and no. The line cooler comes with the rolled edge clamps as well, technically you do not need to purchase new clamps, you can reuse the line cooler ones. I just used the same brand of clamps as Samco.

“I just installed an Akrapovic exhaust on a 2024 S1000 RR and it’s overheating like crazy. I undid the two hose clamps attached to the radiator to make it easier to install the exhaust. Everything is put back together. The reservoir is topped off with coolant to the max level, but when I squeeze the two hoses, I don’t feel like there’s any coolant in there. I have started it up a few times, and the engine is burning. Any suggestions on what to do?

Follow the procedure to get the air from out of the system. Sounds like you have air trapped in the coolant system.
