something that I realised is that whenever the sign is greater than/ greater or equals to we'll always have two solutions one here x....

That is correct unless the quadratic is -x^2 in which case it will be the other way as the graph will go the other way too.

1) if original equation is less 0 and x is positive then we highlight the below part of graph 2) If orignal equation is less 0 but x is negative than we highlight the legs above the line graphs 3) if original equation is greater than 0 and x is positive we highlight the upper legs of the graph 4) if original equation is greater than 0 but x is negative then we highlight the lower part below line graph

How did you sketch the graph without finding out the turning point?

The turning point isn't needed for this sketch as we are only interested in the roots, where it crosses the axes. For a true sketch sure you might want to plot the coordinates but it isn't needed for this.

@@y0wrld724 your critical values would just be fractions, so -5/2 and 2/3 and plot those on the graph = -5/2 < x < 2/3

@@1stClassMaths I think she/he meant by why is it that 1 [less and equal to] x [less and equal to] 5. The one that was crossed out cuz i am also confused at the part.
