Solving Water Leaks On 140 Year Old Farm! Temporary Water Faucet Install

THE OLD BYRD FARM

THE OLD BYRD FARM

2 ай бұрын

In this Old Byrd Farm episode, join me and my friend Daniel as we tackle a crucial issue on the farm: water leaks. These leaks have been causing trouble, so we roll up our sleeves and get to work.
First, we dig up the water meter to locate the source of the problem. Once the meter is exposed, we disconnect it from the house to prevent further leaks. With the main water supply temporarily halted, we install a new faucet behind the meter. This allows us to maintain a steady water supply for the chickens and garden while we address the leak issue.
Watch as we navigate the challenges of farm maintenance, demonstrating practical solutions and teamwork. Whether you're a seasoned farmer or just enjoy learning about farm life, this video offers valuable insights into everyday problem-solving on a historic farm.
Join us on this journey to ensure our farm stays well-watered and thriving!

What a strange coincidence, people were calling and sending me messages that the news said we had to boil our water, due to a contamination. Called my county water company and we are not affected. And here I pulled up this video and you are working on your water lines.

A job well done, guys! Congratulations on your temporary permanent water set up out there on the OBF!😁 So nice of Daniel to come out and help you get your water going. Enjoyed Hunter, too. What a good kid. I loved how Daniel didn't even flinch when you said Hunter was sitting in a mud puddle!😄 What a down-to-earth dad. Thanks for letting us hang out with you. Glad you got this problem fixed!🥰

Boy, what a coincidence I had that done to my house this morning. I woke up to water front property. Actually a copper pipe had a pin hole n decided to get bigger n bigger. So you guessed it had to replace all pipes from meter to house. They used something called Pex. I bet your problem was a lot cheaper to fix than mine. It cost me $4100.00 dollars. You’re so lucky to know someone who’s a plumber. I already forked out over $9000.00 for air conditioner n unit. I sure hope that’s the end of my troubles for awhile. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🐾🐾🐾🐾🐈‍⬛

So nice to have running water. Where I go at times in Mexico, water to the houses is rationed, goes into rooftop tanks, then a gravity feed or a pump. Showers often have a pull chain, so when you let go, the water goes off.

That pipe is going to freeze and burst In the winter. It's not below the frost line. Those valves are actually designed to be put inside of your house so that it shuts off in the house where the heat is, not underground. It's temporary because that pipe is going to burst in the winter.

What part of the country are you from? If it's somewhere like Minnesota or North Dakota I would agree with you. I'm not sure, but I don't think Georgia has that problem. Their frostline is probably 6". Sure, it gets 30ish° maybe once/winter, but I don't think they generally have that problem. Not jumping you or anything 😊.

Monkey wrench works well enough. That's why it's called a prototype....only one until it breaks ha ha. Cut, take 2. I can do some plumbing but my knowledge is limited. Blade comes loose and the Old Byrd Farm gets demonetized ha ha. I usually give it 15 minutes to set. Underwater? Nice. Yes, Pex is the way to go.
