It will always bother me that the writers titled this episode "The Happiest Show On Earth," and not the far more obvious choice "Boy Meets Disney World."

Since they're basically removed from the rest of the immediate TGIF Universe (which exists as programming on their show) and their general dynamic, I think it's safe to call Rosanne TGIF's Guardians of the Galaxy.

Being fair about the high heels: I wore sneakers, and DEAR GOD my feet were murdering me a few days in. I was usually limping and couldn't spend a few days in the park without resting them for a day. I have flat feet, btw... I couldn't imagine anyone wearing high heels in Disney without being in blinding pain.

I'm really kind of comforted that I wasn't the only one who had foot pain after EPCOT. I thought was just complaining. Granted, I was a kid and I complained a lot, but still, it's good to know I wasn't the only one complaining about it. I have flat feet as well.

Of all the Some Jerk jokes I've laughed at, I think the I Don't Give a Dance is the one I've laughed the most at. That said, the Beast might be the one that made me laugh the hardest. Like, the kind of laugh where I can't make noise or breathe.

Yep, count me as one of those who completely didn't get the tictactoe joke. With the gun sounds on the Xs, I thought the idea was that the lens flare were being shot at and missed until finally it was given up on and scratched out.

When I first saw the lens flare gag when watching this episode, I was kinda thinking tic-tac-toe in the back of my head, but wasn't entirely sure if that was what you were going for with it. I always figured the joke was simply "Get rid of these damn lens flares"!

Actually the whole "west world cross over" whole goes deeper as not only is Sabrina the Teenage Witch part of the main archie universe, but also crossed over in the comics with Sonic the Hedgehog. So yeah in the same multiverse Sonic the Hedgehog and Urkel exist but it gets freakier because not only in the comics do Sonic and Mega Man cross over, but Sonic due to the Olympics and Smash Brothers has crossed over with Mario, Legend of Zelda, Metriod, Pokemon and all other mainstays of the Nintendo Universe. Heck Sonic also crossed over with Wreck It Ralph so that's another tie back to Disney as well. And you could probably go even deeper as you could literally probably connect Boy Meets World to the MCU but... would you want to? Probably not.
@TackyRackyComixNEO
@TackyRackyComixNEO 7 жыл бұрын
Sonic also crossed over with the '90s Image Comics universe, which crossed over with Batman, and of course Batman and the rest of DC has crossed over with Marvel, which ties it right back into Disney again.

Maybe not all of these things really happened or something
@DianaGohan
@DianaGohan 7 жыл бұрын
Well all of these things happened. Actually hell in Sonic Comics 257 there was a cameo of Linkara in the background. And since Linkara appeared in the Back to The Future Part 1 review of Some Jerk With A Camera, that means SJWaC is also a part of the Step By Step/Boy Meets World/Sabrina/Archie multiverse.

So heh even if you missed being part of Step by Step as a kid you are still in some way connected through several different other franchises to that multi verse.

Interesting, how many episodes were recorded on a Flip camera? What equipment you using nowadays?
@TonyGoldmark
@TonyGoldmark 7 жыл бұрын
All the episodes of seasons one and two were shot on my Flip camera. Then between seasons two and three, I upgraded to a Canon Vixia HF R500, recommended to me because apparently of all the brands of consumer video cameras, Canon makes 'em with the best internal microphones.
@lundopictures
@lundopictures 7 жыл бұрын
That's interesting. I hadn't thought about the need for a good internal mic when shooting guerrilla style at the parks. Have you considered a DSLR? The lenses make things look all pretty, but you'd need an external mic. Anyway, my original point was the Flip cam had surprisingly good quality. I remember the Flip cam a buddy of mine had and it sucked.
@TonyGoldmark
@TonyGoldmark 7 жыл бұрын
When Kyle Kallgren was in town to shoot our Beauty and the Beast co-review, he brought his DSLR to shoot with, complete with external mic, and it was so big and professional-looking, before the end of the first shooting day Disneyland security asked us to stop shooting or we'd be asked to leave. The next day we went back to the park with consumer cameras and security left us alone. So the trick to guerrilla filmmaking nowadays is, look like an amateur. You don't have to be one, you just have to look like one.

I am one of those Boy meets world fans, didn't get into it until I was a teenager though cause I didn't actively watch sitcoms as they aired until the 2000s. As for girl meets world, it was one of the best written shows. Sure, to you that might not mean much. but, it was still a pretty good show.

My only problem with these "Multiple people" commentaries is that when someone's starting a really interesting story, they get cut off by someone else talking and they don't go back to what they were talking about. Which sucks because I always wanna hear the full story

So, you’ve done TV shows and movies connected to the park. Will you ever consider branching into other media? Like Epic Mickey? Or reviewing When Curiosity Met Insanity, which is by two Disneyland cast members and is about Alice and the Hatter falling in love at the theme park?
@TonyGoldmark
@TonyGoldmark 7 жыл бұрын
I'm REALLY not a gamer, so Epic Mickey is extremely unlikely. WCMI is a webcomic, right? It's not all that interesting to review still pictures in a video web series.

Something I just realized (having forced myself to retain as much "Step By Step" information as possible, was the crossover bit creates a continuity error. June Lockhart's character says the trip is supposed to be the first week of summer vacation. Boy Meets World involves Eric having to cover for Cory at school. So unless Port Washington. Wisconsin operates on a different schedule than the rest of the northern states, the two characters shouldn't be there at the same time.

I don't think the Boy Meets World episode ever specifically says it doesn't take place TOWARDS the end of the school year. Schools end their years at different times, it happens.

Apparently the reason Girl Meets World was canceled was because the characters were aging out of Disney's target demographic. I've noticed a bunch of campaigns to move the show to Netflix.

Are you sure that Step by Step cameo was the actually the same character, or was that just simply the same actress? If it's the former do they call back to the events of the Step by Step episode when the sisters leave the bossy sister?

She tells Cory her name at one point, and it's her Step By Step character name. That's enough for me.
