I saw a theory that Eric’s behavior and intelligence are filtered by Corey’s perception of him as he grows up first thinking him suave and cool then seeing him be a townie then being in college together it all changed Corey’s perspective of Eric and thus how he appears on the show changes as Corey’s relationship with him develops. Don’t know if it’s true or who came up with it but it works pretty well 🤪

Spice99857 He actually did a lot of voice work on cartoons throughout the 2000s. He stopped acting in front of the camera for a long time due to an anxiety disorder. He actually began medication for his anxiety in the last season of BMW because he was so nervous in front of the camera he could barely do it, the medication also caused massive weight gain (you can tell he gained a lot during the last season.) he actually didn’t act again in front of the camera until the spin-off, Girl Meets World!

I love boy meets world ! Currently on a binge right now on Hulu The only thing I did notice and I’m not sure if I’m alone is that Eric Mathews took a huge turn He definitely seems more of an air head in the later episodes which really sucks cause it gets annoying after a while

Wish eric and jack would have stayed like eric and jack in the beginning. Loved jack but he became this macho guy that just didnt fit with the character. Also there could have been a whole show just about eric jack rachel lol.

I know a guy who said, "Amy and Feeny were being really stupid in _I'm gonna be like you dad._ They actually condemned Alan for not believing in Eric, but come on! Listen to him mistake future for furniture or niche for niece. Eric was written way too dumb in later episodes. Dumb is only funny if done a certain way, and what Eric eventually was written as wasn't that funny.

He wasn't written that way. Will Freidle was the king of improv. They basically just gave him a prop and a basic idea and Will did the rest and he was hilarious.
