George practiced everyday for one week with the band to perfect this song. The other performers practiced one day. That was George Michael the perfectionist.

George's singing is just incredible in every way. Not only did he do an excellent rendition even here in rehearsal, it looks like he's ready to walk off to a modeling shoot. GM was Perfection inside and out and he always made it look like it was so effortless! Missed is an understatement....

George delivered one of the most powerful performances in music history at the freddie mercury tribute show. George has sold over 70 million albums world-wide. There is no denial that george is one of the most talented artists ever. He wrote Careless Whispers when he was 17 and now it has become one of the best romance songs of all time!
@rosamiller86874 жыл бұрын
This post is from 12 years ago and can you imagine by the time he died he sold 115 million records in his lifetime. He's still the youngest recipient of the Ivor novello award for writing Careless Whisper at the age of 17. He still holds that record. He's also the highest paid performer to perform at a private event. He was paid 3 million pounds for an hour's worth of work. An off the top of my head his album older released six singles that went into the top three. No other artist I believe has had that. He is one amazing artist. Love him, my favorite

I only knew about Wake Me Up Before You Go Go and Freedom until this year. I'm 26 years old and regret sleeping on one of the greatest artists of my lifetime. I think had it not been for his battle against Sony he could have done a lot more original work. I know he did 2 other albums but they didn't do well in the U.S. His biggest crime was wanting more control over the direction of his image and career. Tbh he deserves to have a bigger legacy than Michael Jackson, an accused pedophile. His Wham songs and songs from his first 2 albums Sadly he may be an artist the new generation forgets entirely. Can we name any American artists who were inspired by George Michael? I can only name UK artists Adele and Sam Smith.
@rosamiller86874 жыл бұрын
That makes me sad that you discovered him after his death. I followed him since the moment I saw him as a teenager on top of the Pops. Even when he walked away from the US market I managed to find all of his music. He was a legend in the UK. The man won six Ivor novello awards for songwriting and that is no small feat. I love love love his music and what he has left us behind is truly golden.
@TheMartinPuente4 жыл бұрын
@@rosamiller8687 sadly because when it comes to solo artists America tend to prefer American artists and in the 80s onward that meant Michael Jackson and Prince even though I now count George Michael as a contemporary. It was even hard for David Bowie and Queen to break through in the U.S. Sadly, George's other work didn't translate well to the U.S. and he did himself no favors with his Sony battle. I'm left wondering what Listen Without Prejudice Vol 2 would have been like.
