the "only when you want to see me will our meeting be meaningful" quote opening this?!!? right to jail! this is already the type of video that will have several different meanings to people when they watch it like if you watch it without context it's just a stunningly lovely tribute to these two love birds with heart eyes in their EVERY scene (even the banter - *especially* the banter); when you watch the show it just takes on this much heavier, epic viewing and i'm so happy i'm in the latter. the subtle callbacks between timelines, the fact that this song is perfect to utilize the fact that we actually see them fall in love TWICE (like what other couple has that absolute honor oh my godddddddd and how amazing is it as an editor to play with that duality!?) ugh and just the general star crossed vibes, the odes to literally dreaming about the other, pining for each other across decades and intertwining souls wow. and even beyond that idk i feel like parts of their story is so dramatic and tragic but the way you isolate those fun moments, the youthful love at the heart of their connection ugh just absolutely fucks me up how well you understand them and how lovingly you translated that in this vid! per usual, you take your viewers on a journey and, whether they know the context of the vid or not, i truly feel like it's impossible to remain unmoved by your work! thank you so much for this! i love you and i hate you!

I can't believe you found the perfect song for these two and in Cantonese too, it makes it even more special and fitting and it only goes to show the care and attention you put into all of your vids. "Man in my dreams" what a great lyric actually and how beautiful because he is literally yu xuan's man in her dreams and I love how you used that shot of them lying in the grass when she just wakes up to see him there. The way you've matched the lyrics from then onwards is just beautiful and very poetic and that's very much these two to me. The chills I got when the "stranger" lyrics showed up and you used that clip in slowmotion at 0:32 UGH MY HEART IS WEAK FOR THOSE MOMENTS. Zi wei longingly looking at her and how he really is a stranger for her but he KNOWS who she is, the angst just came rushing back!!! I love how you balanced both the youthful moments and the banter with the more intense and all-encompassing moments (1:42 especially killed me with the parallels of zi wei taking her hand and yu xuan hugging him from behind and then the motorbike!!!). Which brings me to my absolute favourite parallels that you used so well, 2:42 with smol yu xuan in the motorbike and the meaning behind that is just beautiful to see, paired with the song's bridge which is probably my favourite!! You used the internal movement of all of the clips (this show has some incredible shots holy shit!!) so well and knew how to use pacing in your advantage, and I love it. It's so representative of your editing and it is why I admire you so much, not many people know how to make it so cinematic and at the same time perfectly matching the lyrics. I'm so happy you vidded these two so I can come back to this video every time I miss them. I love it and I love you!!!
