Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! This time we take a look at what appears to be the return of one of the oldest Internet personalities on the web, Chris Chan who is the creator of Sonichu. This individual has had a rather infamous last couple years so for this to occur was a tad unexpected. Thanks for watching!

Autism affects how you learn and perceive things. It affects social cues. So with that being said, the part of Chris that is autistic is the part that is awkward and has a hard time with certain subjects. The other, more problematic part of Chris is most likely trauma from the abuse he suffered from both sides of his life.

Something of note if you're aware of Christory: Chris has, in the past, mentioned that he wears his medallion backwards when he says something that is untrue. @@LordWaterBottleOh, he is. But it got to the point where he'd do whatever people told him to do that 'supported' what he thought and would let him keep doing what he wanted to do. It was easier for him to do so. But then instead of professional help he ONLY talked with the counselor at the church, cause again it was way easier for him where he could hold back from telling certain things and still be 'good in god's eyes'. It's like a train wreck that just... doesn't stop.

@@LordWaterBottle I'd say you're on to something. But also, the whole 'internet truman show', treating her like gail chord schuler, who is clearly ALREADY deeply troubled, and embroiled in a broken nonsensical fantasy world... that's got to be the BIG thing. I mean, I've seen some _shit_ in my lifetime. Crazy folks. _Slow_ folks. Normal folks. I've seen em ALL at their worst & ugliest, in person. I can tell say with confidence, that the autism simply made it easier for him to be led so completely astray. To be convinced he was trans, or jesus, or that his comic was real. It just became a feedback loop. Like I said, I've seen some shit, and I can say, again, with confidence, that all autism really does, is make you enjoy one piece, and miss sarcastic cues. Not this. Not ANY of this. It was just the catalyst. A springboard, for goddamn 4chan.

@@LordWaterBottle I somewhat disagree. Faith is fine. What's not fine is raising them on dogmatic beliefs like what accompany the majority of organized religion. There is a reason full name of autism includes the word "spectrum". Some autistic individuals are so withdrawn they're unable to function whatsoever, some function "in a different world" and some are physically aggressive and dangerous to themselves and others*. And psychosis is associated with some forms of autism. *I may have had to dodge a few chairs when attending a school with a special wing for severely autistic kids, and I actually wouldn't learn about milder forms until like mid high school. Definitely. Bob and Barb were in deep denial about Chris's issues. They would've preferred to say that he was completely neurotypical. As can be gleaned from Chris's warped stories about his own past, there was some effort to beat it out of him/pray it away. Only after he was irredeemably broken did they admit he was "autistic" as an explanation for his disordered behaviors. It's a shame, because with proper, early intervention and therapy Chris could've probably had a relatively normal life.

Chris's issue is not autism, he is an individual with genuine mental health issues that leave him mentally handicapped. He is someone who is completely devoid of reality and is clearly sociopathic. Make sure you mention this if you ever get called for jury duty so you can't make any decisions regarding the law and people's lives. You don't have to be proven innocent. You are innocent until proven guilty. Dismissed charges can occur for multiple reasons. If their isn't enough evidence, that doesn't mean someone probably did it. That's not how the law works, nor should it. Your thoughts are very dumb and you should never be on a jury. You probably assume if someone is arrested, they must be guilty. Everyone is innocent. It's the courts job to prove your guilt. If they can't, that doesn't mean someone must have done the crime.

@Lord_Nikon33 Innocent until proven guilty is a legal concept and does not necessarily apply to what you or I as individuals believe. He is presumed innocent, he was not proven innocent.

@DylanNes witnessing a murder doesn't make you believe in someone's innocence. It makes you an eye witness to a major crime. Did you witness Chris having sexual intetcoure with his mother? The reason innocent until proven guilty exists for this very reason. People used to believe in witches, and based solely on this belief, people were burned alive. Your beliefs have nothing to do with the law and shouldn't be a reason to persecute anyone. Again, please mention your beliefs if you're ever selected for a jury so you don't ruin someone's life.

@Lord_Nikon33 We dont have jury duty where I live, but I have a legal career and a degree in criminal law. You are pedantically conflating the personal opinions of random people on KZfaq with opinions that carry actual legal weight. Chris does not have to be formally proven guilty of anything for any sane person to believe he's likely guilty based on what we know. No one here is trying to "persecute" anyone, as much as you'd like to believe they are. We are as entitled to our opinions as Chris is to be PRESUMED innocent by the state (not PROVEN innocent, as correctly stated by the OP). As an aside, because it isnt relevant (at all), I know many jurisdictions where Chris' confessions alone would have likely been enough for him to be convicted in a court of law. The idea that he's the victim of some witch hunt when he literally bragged about the thing he's being accused of is profoundly idiotic. I do not know enough about US/Virginia law or this specific case to give an educated opinion on this, but my understanding has been that the charges were dropped mostly because he'd already spent more time jailed than he would have ended up serving. It does not appear inconceivable at all that he would have been convicted if the state had known what to do with him in time to give him a speedy trial.

I used to work with adults with developmental disabilities. The company I worked for would provide supportive living services. Our clients had a range of disabilities, but most were high functioning. Higher functioning means they would be able to understand most things. One of the things we would help clients with is any legal issues they had such as regular court, family court, and probation. I am not a lawyer or anything like that, but one thing I learned when it came to individuals with disabilities depending on the severity of the crime whether it was a misdemeanor or a felony. This only applies if the individual committed a felony that the court could see if the individual was competent enough to understand what they did. If they found them incompetent then the charges could be dropped and the person would go through competency training, but there was no guarantee that the individual would learn how to be competent. Also, this applies to the California court system. Every state is different. I believe this might be the case for Chris. Also, I highly doubt that he is only autistic. Many of my clients had many psychological issues like depression, anxiety, etc going on besides their main diagnosis.

I stand by what I said. The internet botched this. Once Chris was mailing letters of more admissions. The moment someone uploaded the first letter, it was game over for a conviction. One of the defense tactics were Chris is heavily stalked, and the internet proved it once a person uploaded the first letter.

Which is why the law enforcement (hey admit it, there ARE good people within the fields) has never been big fans of couch detectives or internet sleuths. More often than not, they disrupt legal proceedings, and make convictions much harder.

Legally, there was no reason to keep him. All they can do is send him back. Virginia apparently is also the worst aid available for adults with Autism. So there really is no one to grant him help.

I have autism myself, and I said it once when this all went down, and I’ll say it again, *I am genuinely worried that Chris Chan was manipulated into saying that about their mom.* I am not joking, I am not taking the piss, *false confessions are a real thing, and autistic people, especially ones who have been abused as children as Chris is widely believed to have suffered from are extremely susceptible to being goaded into giving these false testimonials against themselves.* Why would the internet do this may you ask? Plenty of reason. They’re trans, they’re a lolcow, they were probably bullied in school a lot, there are all sorts of sadistic reasons why someone like Isabella or whoever else would want to take advantage of a disabled person like this. Maybe you don’t like Chris Chan, but please remember that false confessions, especially when concerning disabled people *are a real and serious thing, and there have been documented cases of autistic and other mentally challenged individuals admitting to crimes that that it was later proven that they could not have possibly commited, due to the fact they weren’t even in the country at the time or something along those lines* and that there is *very little deterrent in the United States or most Western countries for that matter against people who make false accusations, and Isabella, even if proven beyond reasonable doubt to have manipulated and goaded a disabled person into confessing to a crime which they did not commit, would probably only get a month in prison at the very most, but it’s more likely she would get nothing at all.* Alright that’s enough out of me. Thanks for listening

@@The_Forever_ManThat’s all the more reason for the internet to have motive to frame him of a crime. Pretending to be trans in order to date lesbians is a scummy move to be sure, but goading a disabled person into falsely testifying against themselves is absolutely sickening, and I truly, truly believe that is what has happened here. If I am wrong and he actually is guilty, then of course he deserves to be punished, but I’ve been a victim of this kind of shit since I was a tiny 7 year old kid, and I know a false confession when I see one! I watched the entire thing when it happened and it just screamed ‘manipulation’, and the fact that his charges have now been dismissed specifically because of his disability shine’s an even greater light on what I’m saying. I don’t like Chris Chan as a person, but that does not mean he’s guilty, and I’d sooner see 1000 guilty men walk free before one innocent person goes to jail!

@@ladyalicent705 I really, really wouldn’t turn this guy into your martyr here. There are so many disabled or mentally ill people wrongly convicted or forced to confess, but this isn’t a situation where you can so ardently say he’s DEFINITELY telling the truth now. With so much respect, it really does seem you’re projecting your own personal experiences here. Chris doesn’t need to be in prison, that much is clear. But he shouldn’t be walking free with the public, either. Let’s not forget the countless women he’s stalked, the man he ran over with his car after attacking several times, etc. You take the fake transness as another way his reputation could be used against him, but it also demonstrates a pattern - his utter lack of accountability. I’m not saying this is all his fault, Chris was failed by his parents, his therapists, psychiatrists, etc. and horribly harassed by bad actors. But please don’t stand here saying he’s innocent of everything when there are real victims of this individual, and your “proof” is that you know a fake confession when you hear one. Your compassion is wonderful, but are you extending that same grace to victims? If 1,000 guilty people walk free - especially ones who show no desire or ability to feel remorse or to change their behaviors - it spits in the face of the fear of past victims, and puts similarly vulnerable people in danger. Any way you slice it, Chris is a repeat offender harassed by the worst of the world and coddled and enabled by anybody actually close enough to help.

Thanks for mentioning this. It's easy to want to believe the worst of Chris, probably in part to justify laughing at or bullying him for his cringe, but there isn't any way to know for sure if he's is guilty or not. Do I personally think he's guilty? I don't know! I don't have access to more information than the state of Virginia had.
