Every time I see this episode, I picture the conversation between the actress who plays Amy and her agent. “They want you on the show again.” “Great!” “But, um, you’ll only be on screen for a second.” “Oh, okay.” “… and you have to be naked.”

Even though S4 wasn't one of my favourites overall, it did contain some brilliant stand out episodes of which Something Blue was one. The comedy here is achingly funny, and this episode contains so much foreshadowing for later episodes, you can see in S4 Willow becoming more reliant of magic each time she has a crisis, and that the potential Spuffy relationship is hinted at, but in a comedic way. Hilariously funny when Giles and Buffy use the words impotent and flaccid referring to Spike in the bath. Interesting too that Spike is so much more perceptive of Willow's pain over Oz. Overall a great episode to look back on.

Its one of my favorite episodes. I was shoked when i saw Buffy and Spike togather. They are so gorgeous and they have a lot of chemistry. Their kisses are very hot.

🤣🤣 Great reaction to a fantastically fun ep that like some mentioned was a great lift after the pain/sadness of the previous Angel episode.... so much good stuff like the weird Buffy/Spike pairing and even gave us insight that Willow's magical prowess might be greater than we thought, but of course this may have been amplified by her pain from the recent Oz break up. Soo many good lines, like "I can hear the smacking", and "Lips of Spike"... are always guaranteed to bring on the laughs..... great stuff that gets you the first Whedonverse CTU today.... now on to the Angel reaction you posted! Keep em coming!

The Bette Midler song, _You Are The Wind Beneath My Wings_ was an unintentional joke around the time this show was on. If I remember correctly, it was used to overly corny romantic effect in movies, and there may have been a bad cover or two at the time. But the reaction to Spike saying that's what Buffy wanted and her trying to deny the truth of it was a big laugh moment because of how the song was perceived in real life at the time. How it's perceived now, I don't know. I haven't heard it or any cover in years.

I always have a smile on my face watching reactions for this one. Hilarity and trauma in a single, excellent episode. Perfectly encapsulates the Buffy experience, complete with call backs and foreshadowing. The seconds long Amy cameo is so great. Love that the actress would do that. A tiny role, but a massive pay off for fans. Spuffy is officially born with this episode. I truly think it came out of nowhere, even with Marster's immense charisma and Spike's obsession with Buffy, but the chemistry is undeniable. Shipping is always fun, and this one is great ^^

'Something blue' is one of the best ep in S4 and in the whole series imo. So many funny moments: Spuffy, Amy brought back just for a few seconds, 'Kiss the librarian' 'Can I be blind too?'... Unfortunately that's where I began to dislike Willow. There had been some hints in S3, but from this moment on she sounds annoying. P.s. Hasn't anybody noticed that there's a special chemistry between Buffy and Spike??

Such a hilarious episode with such a heart-wrenching opening. This show isn't shy about mixing the two. And don't worry, you're not the only one who found the chemistry between Buffy and Spike oddly compelling! There's a whole community of "Spuffy" (or "Bike") shippers and everything. (Then again, there are people who ship Hagrid with Dobby, so I guess that doesn't mean much.)

I loved the joke about Buffy's name because it took a crack at how insane the name is, which was part of the reason I wasn't going to watch the show in the first place. Because when I first heard the title, I thought the show was going to be something completely inane and insulting about women, like Buffy would be this total airhead and I would hate it. But instead it's truly ironic because Buffy's a badass and I love her.

That was the episode where they wanted to play a joke but eventually the joke played them 😄😈 And I like it. They had no idea what they started. One of the rare cases, because usually they control things and have them like they want it to be. Here they wanted to show that Buffy should be with a normal guy, that she doesn't need relationships with supernatural character and she should be over it, like she said at the end. But they chose the wrong guy for that, lol 😆There was nothing there to prove that she should be over it, and moreover instead they got people interested in the possibility of their relationship, at least to some degree. And people didn't even think about it before. So congratulations! And my special applause to James for stealing her from all the other guys, in one episode. 👏

Willow is a powerful witch, she just lacks confidence in herself at this point. And while I know you said no spoilers, I also believe that you have guessed at the fact that Riley is a keeper, as boyfriends go. He does have some baggage, but in fairness, so does Buffy.

Another excellent review! This is definitely one of my favourite episodes. It’s so amusing! For a below average season (IMO), it surprisingly has a few of my favourite eps. How do you think S4 compares to the others? I totally get that some people like it. After all, S1 is my second favourite season. I love the cheesiness and I take into account all of the limitations it had (the fact it was a mid season replacement, it had a small budget, inexperienced showrunnner, etc).
