Yeah , nothing worse than bad Python rip off attempts !! Boy George and Martin Degville's facial expressions during the Pajamas Idiot's obnoxious and annoying routine pretty much say it all . It looks like George and Martin had been groomed a bit for this whole show biz thing . After this TV appearance , George would be placed in the audience for different bands on Top of the Pops , before Culture Club got going .

In the early 80s a gang of us use to dress like Sholin Monks, Middle Weight Boxers and Battling Robots. We use to mince up and down The Kings Road on a Saturday kicking the Granny out of Punks, Teds, Skinheads, Mods, Rockabillies, New Domestics and each other. We all drank in The Chelsea Potters and bought sandwiches in the Great Gear Market.

In Spain, despite the transition, all this was still prohibited. I transgressed in 1989 when I was 14 years old. Still they threw stones at us, I laugh at the current false modernity. Alienation. everything was already invented

...Said every generation of the one before! Know what you mean though. Easier to buy a look off the peg nowadays. In the olden days you had to construct your image, piece by piece. I remember, for instance, wanting an armful of thin metal bangles, like Madonna/Cyndi, but I had to accumulate them 1 or 2 a week. They cost 10p each at the corner shop - a lot of money to a school kid in 1985. I ended up with about 50. Now you can acquire that many from Primark for about £1.50, but they'll be super-disposable to the wearer because they were too easily come by.

The gay community was far more effective in terms of being in the music industry back then. Their approach was one of producing for anyone to enjoy. Gay identity was a part of it, but it wasn't the dominating factor in place of appealing to wider audiences as well. This is a good example of young people coming together purely to talk about being young people and their love of music and fashion.

George is a fascinating character, sober, intelligent and critical, disdainful of stupidity and boorishness... while maintaining an admitted light finger at the Blitz coat check! Too funny that someone this mature was also a thief. Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols is much the same and an admittedly gleeful thief.... Makes you wonder! George says he was annoyed that Steve Strange wouldn't let Mick Jagger into Blitz citing Jagger had " done more" than strange had... respect for achievement. Really fascinating and rare character.
