But this time feels different.

My prediction (a bit in-depth and precise, gonna get this wrong most likely) Bayern 0-1 Dortmund First half, Bayern to dominate, Muller to hit the post from range, Kobel to save Muller penalty Second half, Dortmund to get more chances, Bellingham great pass to Haller on 60 mins, Haller scores, Dortmund defend valiantly, De Ligt to head a late chance over the bar, BVB hold on

This just feels like the 18-19 season, but the roles are reversed. We were 6th in the winter break, with no hope for the title. At that point, we just wanted to finish in the top 4. But then, a 9 game unbeaten run and Bayern bottling games (which is a Dortmund thing usually) saw us go challenging Bayern. And this is with basically a rookie at the helm. Even if we don’t win, I think Terzic is building something for the future. Edit: we were getting cooked, but not anymore

Unfortunately, it seems like Jude will most likely leave regardless of us winning the league or not. The lack of a stable squad due to major transfers is a big blow to our consistency and no matter how good Edin is, it's difficult to do anything without a stable 11

That 2018-19 was heartbreaking as a Dortmund fan, they began so well then lost 5-0 to Bayern late on the Season then dropped points in other games to loose the title. If they avoid defeat today against Bayern and win Union Berlin I think they can win the Bundesliga.

What was I doing at 19? I'm currently 19 and seeing people my age and younger already so far ahead of me in life is both depressing and motivating. When I'm done with school, I'm going into coaching. I wanted to be a footballer but parental pressure, lack of self belief and subsequent injuries, that I still struggle with, ended whatever hopes I had. However, I have a decent enough football brain and I want to go for it using the Will Still route. Just like Shia Labeouf said, "Don't let your dreams be dreams"

@Railgun technically here in Germany you need two different Streaming services. Sky/Wow to watch Friday's and Saturdays games (30 Euro a month for Sky/Wow) and you need DAZN for the Sunday games which are 30 euros as well. So 60 Euros a month to watch all Bundesliga in Germany 🎉🙈🤦🏻‍♂️😊 Although for those 30 euro for DAZN you also have all French, Italian and Spanish leagues as well as other sports and some games of minor leagues and 95 percent of Champions League (the other 5 percent of CL are in prime video)... AMD for the 30 Euro for Sky/Wow you can also watch all of Premier League, Formula 1 etc. Everything is split and you need like 5 services to be able to watch everything.

I think, those Clubs would've more potential than the BVB ever could - simply because the BVB is just a depressing case of everything. The Bundesliga is the best league in the world this season. There is just no doubt about it, if you think otherwise, you haven't watched it at all this season. Big upsets, drama, crazy small point gaps, big club downfalls (Hoffenheim, Leverkusen), big surprises (Union Berlin, Werder Bremen, Freiburg), and amazing comebacks (e.g. Bremen's 3-2 comeback against Dortmund, Dortmund's 2-2 comeback against Bayern, etc), massive talent in every club. Football needs this. Dortmund and arsenal need to win their leagues to show that football isn’t become static. Alongside Napoli as well. This has happened every 3 years in the last decade. The most dominating team is falling short for whatever reason and the underdog team or a team that hasn’t won in years is in first place, but more often than not in the last couple weeks they faultier and it ends up being the same team dominating that wins the league. For the PL it was Leicester that actually won for once and then Spurs were second place a surprising amount of time. In Italy it’s actually been better of recent but Juventus did dominate the league for a long time. Dortmund have done this exact thing I recall like 3 times and I think Wolfsburg did this once or twice because of de bruyne. But 95% of the time the big dogs end up winning again. So I think football really needs it this year and itd be amazing if three leagues had winners.

Great video. In the closest run that u mentioned BvB had recently, it was cut short in almost the exact same way it's happening right now. Bayern were playing poorly under Niko Kovac and sacked him, to get the one & only Hansi Flick. Flick was so successful that he wiped out every single opp he faced after that and won the treble with the team. (Destroying Barca 8-2 in the process btw) BvB has a horrendous record at the Allianz but this is the closest we've come to the league in a decade and I hope we can push through to ruin Bayerns title run. We need the title way more than Bayern.

Dortmund deserves a lot of creditt, they consistently manage to produce and replace their best players, Lewandowski, Aubameyang, Haaland, all appear to have been successfully replaced. And Lewandowski is one of the best and greatest strikers of his generation, Aubameyang was an elite striker at Dortmund, and Haaland has the potential to become one of the greatest strikers of all time. So it isn`t like Dortmund`s job is simply to replace some solid midtable strikers like Benteke or flops like Andy Carroll, they consistently produce and replace some of the best around.

``How do fans remain interested when only one or two teams ever has a chance of winning the top prize in their country?`` It´s pretty simple, usually people are fans passionate fans of their city or which ever city or club they live closest too. So for them they are passionate about their club and how well they are doing in the Rankings! And then of course there is world famous clubs that have fans all around the world. But mostly people are really passionate about their team near to them, and usually your a fan of 2 clubs. The one you play in or from ur small town/village and the one that plays in Bundesliga 1 or 2 which would be the nearest city to you. So it´s not always about winning number 1. For example the history of TSG Hoffenheim was super fun too watch how they kept ranking up untill they made it to the big league! Hope this made any sense im struggeling keeping a sane thought with my toothache right now xD

Part of the issue with Bundesliga over the past 10 years has been mindset. Especially when Lewandowski went to Bayern on a Bosman. You have teams who "went for it" failed or teams who didn't go for it at all and just tread water in the league, going for Europe. BVB have sold every player they've had before they could really make a difference for them but qualified for 9 Champions Leagues. As a company, that's massive success but as a football club, it's failure.

While Dortmund isn't better or worse on points in comparison to löast season, I still think it is really impressive. The first half of the season was dreadful and also very unlucky with injuries (and ofc Haller's illness) so just imagine how many points we would have right now if the first half would only half as good as the second. Even if Dortmund get thrashed by Bayern, they would still only be 2 points behind and their form would probably still allow them to comeback, like with the Chelsea defeat where people thought they would collapse but they actually came back stronger.

And now, Matchday 28, after Munich incredibly draw at home against Hoffenheim, Dortmund had a golden opportunity visiting relegation-bound Stuttgart. Borussia lead 2-0 and Stuttgart suffered a red card. Perfect scenario, right? Stuttgart draw 2-2. But no worries, Gio Reyna scores in the 92nd minute to give Dortmund a 3-2 lead! Now the win is secure, right?! Stuttgart (with TEN players for most of the match, mind you) draw 3-3 at the 97th minute. The "floor is lava" meme? Might as well rename it "The floor is winning the Bundesliga" and edit BVB's logo on it.

I wonder how Dortmund maintain their success through the years when selling off their young talent compared to EPL teams like Southampton are factories for a couple years and then fall off
@johannesschmitt794
@johannesschmitt794 Жыл бұрын
They’ve embraced that role as a club and built their financial model around it. They’ve got an amazing scouting system for young talents. Plus dortmund offers some very attractive benefits: You’ll play European football every season, you’ll get loads of experience and play time, you might pick up the league cup while you’re there. And the region bleeds black and yellow. We fans love Jude Bellingham, he is the prince of Dortmund at the moment. And hearing 75000 people scream your name when you’re on the pitch or score a goal, well, that must feel good.

They got lucky and managed to get their hands on some incredible talent year after year, and from the money they got from selling those they basically do what Bayern is doing - go on shopping Tour at every Club in Germany. Get stronger and keep Opposition weaker. Union Berlin is a team with no real Star player, that's why they stuck together for so long, until Dortmund bought Ryerson this winter. Again, weakening a direct opponent.

Really liked the video and that you are covering the Bundesliga too! But the your Take on Nagelsmann being fired, was pretty unreasonable in my eyes. Of course there were problems outside of the pitch and an inconsistency in play. But in the End of the day there were DONINATING the Champions league and had pretty good chances of winning it with Nagelsmann. The Move of firing was just way too prematurely in my opinion, even if it means losing out on Tuchel.

Yeah, I would have waited with this Video until AFTER the so called "klassiker" Until someone manages to actually snag 6 points away directly from bayern in one season (a feat especially Dortmund will never manage to accomplish, it's mental at this stage) Bayern will keep dominating the League. You can't just hope Bayern will lose the points somewhere else.

I know talking about single players rather than full teams is often misleading and doesn't tell the full picture and you went over some potential teamwide reasons for Bayern struggling more than in the past. However you also mentioned Haaland leaving was seen as an issue but seems to be fine for Dortmund, but could a similar situation with Lewandowski leaving have hurt Bayern?

I feel like what's happening in Germany and England is so insanely similar. Bayern Munich and Manchester City have dominated their domestic leagues over the past number of years. And yet this year they're both underperforming based on past performances and the team taking full advantage of both situations is a team that no one really expected to, Arsenal moreso from the beginning and Dortmund from where they were at the break. Personally I would love to see Union sneak it because of the Cinderella like story it would be for them to win it all.
