Hi Jerry and Linda, I fly my American fly (365) at my house too. I'm a retired Port Authority PD Lieutenant and we lost 37 Officers that day. Thanks for remembering during the opening of today's video. Love your videos...I take notes as I'll be a Villager soon!

@tombiehler4932 My next door neighbor was a street cop in NYC who worked his way up to the CEO of the Jacobs Javits Center. He lost many of his closest friends . One was the head of the POA who l believe had an office on the top of one of the towers. We sat in his house with him that late afternoon until late at night watching TV as his phone was ringing constantly with news of another lost or missing friend. It was a dreadful, tragic time burned in my memory. I hope you find a peaceful spot in the Villages, bc heros like you deserve to be blessed abundantly.

Hi Jerry and Linda! This is a very tough day for those of us who live in NYC. I was still working and we watched the events unfold. They had us vacate our office building and I was able to walk home but I could see the smoke billowing from downtown. My mother, who was 80 years old, lived with my sister. They had not yet turned on the television so I was the one to break the news to them. Years earlier, my sister had worked close to the WTC and she had to get off the phone to comfort my mother. We can never forget and we need to be reminded how important it is to hold onto our freedoms. Thank you and your sons for their service.

Regarding 9/11, I had just arrived home from working the night shift at my hospital on Long Island. My Mother called and told me to turn on the TV to see what was happening. I never did sleep that day. I couldn't believe what was unfolding as the minutes passed. I went back to work that night and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Tons of police cars, ambulances and some fire trucks all sitting so still, close to the main command center by the emergency rooms and heliport. They were waiting in case people were found alive and injured. But nothing. It was eerie and heart wrenching. My heart goes out to all the people who were affected. I'm sorry for all the loss. And a huge THANK YOU to all those who helped out that day and the days, weeks and months that followed. Also another huge THANK YOU to all the servicemen and women that work so hard to protect our great country. And thank you Jerry and Linda for another great video.

Just wanted to say that you don't have to live in the Villages to look forward to watching your channel! We bought a home in Lady Lake two years ago. We live on Social Security only, so our income doesn't allow us to buy there. But regardless, we just enjoy watching you both, and my husband gets a kick out of Gizmo ❤ Mike and Lillian

We live nearby to New York City. I was teaching when the planes struck, and we were not allowed to mention it to the kids, even though they were highschoolers, because many had parents who worked at the world trade center. So stressful because we were also worried about friends and family who were there. There are many memorials nearby to me since so many people were lost. If you have the opportunity to go to the 911 memorial in New, York City, it is truly moving. The most amazing thing to me was that we all got up and went back to our jobs the next day, even though everyone was an emotional wreck.

My first car was a 1972 Volkswagen Bug, neon lime green color. I paid $3000.00 for it, drove it everywhere and 10 years later sold it for $3000.00 dollars. Best purchase I ever made.

My husband worked in the city. He designed all the elevators in the Towers. We were living on the Hudson River, on the Jersey side with views of NYC from our building. That morning, before he left for work, I knew he wasn’t going downtown. Inturned on the tv as I was getting ready for work, and at 1st I thought the plane had an accident, then the 2nd plane hit the Towers. I went outside my building, and Towers fell, dust spread all the way to the Jersey side where I was standing. Phones were out all day, but my husband walked home from the city, and was ok, though we were both so shaken. Lost friends that day. He also helped design the new Freedom Tower. We are happily retired for 6 years in southeast Fla., now, and enjoyed visiting the Villages last year, and will visit again soon Love your shows. ❤

Thanks for remembering 9/11/2001. I was in retail sales working in Jacksonville, FL (and originally born in NYC), there was no way I was going into work that day, the manager didn't understand, couldn't grasp the reality of what just happened. I was in the military reserves and knew my life was going to change that day. Sorry I missed the Space X rocket, I'll have to stay in the loop better if you can watch it so well!

Jerry and Linda, I started watching you this summer and ended up booking a lifestyle visit. My husband and I just got back last Tuesday and I can’t believe it but we are under contract and scheduled to close Oct. 6th in the village of Newell. I owe a lot of thanks to you for providing a wealth of information that has helped us out and will continue to help us as we begin to live (part-time) in the villages. Our realtor gave you a compliment on how accurate you are in what you say. Thanks again. My husband, Mark, and I appreciate the work you do for those of us trying to look into becoming a part of The Villages.

I have no problem with the Villages expanding but the biggest difference over the past 10-13 years is anyone with an average net worth could afford moving there back then but today anyone that is looking at moving into the areas being expanded need to be considerably wealthy

My 1st car - a green 1960 VW Beetle. I was in high school and worked part-time in a local family-owned grocery store. I bought the car from one of my co-workers for $400. That was the best $400 I ever spent. I loved that car so much, and I had it for 3 years . . . then sold it to my friend for $50, and I bought a brand new red 1972 Chevy Vega with a black racing stripe. As it turned out, the VW was a much better car . . . very cheap on gas and maintenance. Those were the days!

The entire "snowbird" topic is looked at through the wrong lens. They should be thanked for leaving for half the year. They paid full price for their properties. They pay the exact same amenity rates. The literal alternative to them "coming back" is for them to stay full-time. If overcrowding is an issue, then that should be taken up with The Villages. But you'd be paying a lot more monthly for your services.

You could drink at the pool with the waterfall when I was young and visited my parents. They had a tiki bar and they served you at the bar or at your lounger, not in the water. That was 40 years ago haha.

I remember 9/11 very well. I was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and a group of we ladies were making sandwiches, fruit, vegetable plates, soup, snacks, coffee & tea for those plane loads of people stranded in our local airport and all the airports across Canada. The planes were lined up all down the runways, leaving just one for incoming planes. We filled our hotels, in our city and those with limited means due to the situation, were billeted. Finding homes to take people was a lot easier than expected, and everyone was safe. I have never made so many sandwiches in my life, cut up fruit, vegetables etc. We were so happy to be able to help folks, mostly American, and that they were safe.

Linda, was in Wildwood last week. Stopped in Bargains and Blessings. Was very impressed with the store. Well-organized, clean, friendly people, large selection. Got three very nice tops for a total of $4.00. Was looking for a small muffin pan. Has to be the only thing they didn't have.

How events change us! We all remember how 9/11/01 started as any other beautiful day and how the attacks radically changed our sense of security in the US. It's right to always honor the victims of all the tragic sites. Shanksville is very close to my hometown of Johnstown, PA. Former farmland now a Memorial. Thanks for remembering Jerry and Linda. We live in a bungalow courtyard villa (fenced yard) and we rarely hear our neighbors- once or twice a year at most. And we have a screened in lanai- not a glassed in lanai and we still don’t hear our neighbors or smell cigarettes or pipes.

Jerry & Linda, today when you answered a question about buying a home with a fence for your dog you really cleared something up I often question myself about. When I went house shopping I think I was in a house coma. I was so excited about buying and in that daze I didn't notice things I should have. I wish I didn't have my head up in the clouds but I'm also glad to hear this also happens to others. Great video as always. Thank you for always keeping it interesting.

We ate poolside at Lopez Legacy last evening. It was lovely. Delicious BOGO burger special. We learned we can eat poolside any priority pool, even if not a "member". Having access to 111 pools is more than enough for us. 😉 Thanks for another great MBM!

I remember being at home watching WGN channel 9 news when all of a sudden one of the anchors interrupts with breaking news saying that what they believed to be a cessna plane had just crashed into the north tower and then pretty much spent the rest of the day watching the events unfold. The one thing that I remember was going outside and the eerie silence from all flights being grounded. Even though our union was on strike at the time, this event made it much worse.😢 Thanks again for all you guys do to make us enjoy our first cup of coffee ☕️ 👍👍

My husband and I bought a condo in Naples 7 years ago. It has more than doubled in value. We are snowflakes, because we also come in the summer for a bit. We are returning right after Thanksgiving. We go back for 10 days at Christmas and for a week in February for my grandson's birthday. We end our season about the 3rd week in April.

Lovely show as usual. 9/11 is bittersweet for my family (USMC) I was in a meeting, my husband was active duty, our elementary school children were all locked down on base. We couldn’t get to each other or the children. We were in shock, dismayed, and angry as the events unfolded live on TV. Add to it my birthday and two friends birthdays. Although the most horrific day I can remember, silver linings came: One of our children went on to join the USAF, protecting the USA and her allies. 🇺🇸

Cape Canaveral at the Kennedy Space Center. I was also teaching when someone yelled turn on the TV. When the second plane hit I turned off the TV. We were sent home early because the city, Philadelphia, was afraid it could be hit next. All I wanted to do was go home and hug my kids. They were home because their school district was on strike. We sat with the TV on all day.

One sonic boom in the middle of the night blew open our interior door from our kitchen that led to the attached garage 😮😅 talk about falling out of bed! My husband’s first car was a white over baby blue Chevrolet Biscayne or Impala. I’m not sure which. Mine was a 1966 Ford Mustang. Both were great cars and I wish I had them both. We bought a new 1971 Dodge Challenger, black over white. It was beautiful then and is beautiful now. Great show “guys”. Jerry, get adventurous and try something else besides General Tso’s chicken. It is a buffet after all. Just take one bite. I find most items on a buffet are very similar and most are chicken. I like the different dumplings and the sugar donuts as well, but don’t eat the donuts. Your hair looks lovely, Linda.

We don't have a fence either* We had a dachshund, and she never took off on us. When she was older, she would stick close to me, she just wanted to sit outside and sunbathe. You would have thought, this dachshund was a person, she would just listen to me, while, I spoke to her. *Another youtuber Rusty Nelson mentioned about the Land purchase, The Villages bought* . *Our Main Airport only 35 minutes and it depends on the traffic* . *I heard by year 2030 there will be a Billion People on the roads, throughout the World* . *The homes in our region 2021 sold for 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms 1,700sq ft would sell for $180,000 and now they are selling for $520,000 , yes you read this correctly. $340,000 differences Three years ago, we went to visit some friends in October 2020 and the weather in Minnesota was very nice. And the foliage too .

Thanks for answering my question about fences and if you considered Veranda homes. Super, well thought out answer. Agree 100% about not leaving pets unattended outside even with a fenced back yard. I had a horrible experience with coyotes when I lived in California. Anyway I am excited as Kaelee will be getting a new sister on Sunday. She is a 10 week old black Miniature Poodle. Jerry & Linda, what makes your V show so special, in my opinion, (and the only one I watch) is the spontaneous way it happened - when you set out to show your boys your new home & the video file was too large to send so you ended up putting it on your KZfaq channel and happen to notice all the views it got!Y'all are just naturals at this! Yes, the episode that hooked me was Things We Don't Like About The Villages - it was amazing!

Another great show 🌹911, still fresh in our minds. I was in a corporate town hall meeting on 34th and Park. Couldn't get to train to NJ. Stayed at Hilton midtown for days. On my dime. My company at that time told us business as usual. Really. Years later I worked downtown, till this summer actually. And those who were there are still twitchy. Retirement is awesome on so many levels.😊 I do part time at a local craft store and enjoy being creative. A far cry from corporate 😉

So THAT’S what that was! I haven’t heard a sonic boom in awhile. I used to hear them a lot when the shuttle program was still active and the shuttles would land at Cape Canaveral or at Patrick AFB. Always thought a car hit the house or something! 😂

Getting darker much sooner, here in Pennsylvania. Night time temps are finally starting to cool off. Love the summer, but not the extreme humidity. Enjoying your videos.

I was thankful that I was overseas on September 11 time since I didn’t have a television I couldn’t watch what happened nonstop. That would’ve made it a real shock especially since a week later I had to take a plane to return home I never saw anything except pictures in the newspaper and the language I couldn’t read but much much later I saw it on KZfaq. I still feel so sorry for anybody who went through that. Had been at the memorial in New York City much much later.

At our summer house in Door County WI, we noticed the snowbird migration has begun. Residents take down their driveway mailboxes, leaving the post when they leave. We've started seeing empty posts around our house. Hummingbirds have not left yet but snowbirds have started. We will not be in Florida until the end of October.

Great show as usual. My first car was my brothers hand me down and it was a 1971 Dodge Duster, 3 speed, no air and would not go over 55 mph but it got me to school and the boys thought it was a cool car. Now my brother owns a 1970's Dodge Duster that is in his garage at their home in The Villages.
