I'm a pretty handy guy, but I'm probably going to need a hand with my machine. The hydraulics seem very weak. I picked up a Rayco rg 1625 in September. I live in Wisconsin and its been very cold this winter. And unfortunately I don't have a garage. So I'm planning on using my tax return to get it up to par. I'm following you for advice. I worked in the tree service industry for 13 or so years. Now I'm trying to start my own thing. My old boss was a cheapskate. But I learned a lot about this business. I still cut and sell firewood on the side for extra cash but I'm hoping to get grinding jobs slowly this summer and build up over time so I don't have to work for anyone else.

I must say that I had to go in this business for years ago. It's something I definitely loved to do. Always repair my car, as long as it aren’t computer problems, and can weld everything you want. If I was your neighbor you would never had such problems because You would know that I could fix them. You could come over and say "Hi, I have a problem with this machine" and in a matter of hours or days it would be fixed. Now I'm 69 and living in the Netherlands. Over here they have stumps too you know? It’s never too late to start a business in this field. Thanks for this movie. Easy fixings for me. 😂

A heavy duty door hinge usually safices for a fix, also instead of nuts I use nut plates which requires rivets versus welding. Good stuff!!!! Dirt will reak haveck on the inside.

As I just rebuilt one of these in the beginning of COVID, put a new 27 hp, all new bushings, new main pins and it works great, thinking of sand blasting and paint since seeing 15 y/o ones for 15k$. I replaced the top triple belt pulley on mine and made a huge difference. If the splines are even with the outside it's too worn.

I watch for stress fractures at weld joints too. There are often a few spots missing weld nuts here and there on older machines. I recently purchased a spot welder to help reinstall some of the missing weld nuts,. Thanks Adam.

Great Videos Adam! would like to see one on dealing with underground utilities and risk of hitting them when doing jobs! I see a lot of ppl asking about this on the pages as well. If you could shed some knowledge on that subject I think it would help a lot of people out, me included.

Well said you’re the type of guys did I pay close attention to and ask questions.And being able to repair your own machines means everything I have a 252 with a brand new engine under warranty Without operator presence in a four tire hydraulic steering on a 25 with yellow jacket and was advised by one of the originals.Big go is not always better working on getting my second machine which will be a tow behind 752.

Such a great informative video. I have a question my friend? I'm going next week to purchase a baretto sg30 stump grinder. Reason I'm leaning towards that type and model. Is maneuverability. Will fit between 36in chainlink fence door. It has new tracks. Had several different cutter heads and sets of teeth. He's kept it clean and serviced. I believe it's a 2014. Vanguard 30hp engine efi. It has 1300 hours on it. Is that alot of hours? I truly don't know. He put a atv blade and atv winch on rear to lower and push shavings. Tastefully done. I value your opinion. The Baretto is hydrolic driven cutter head unlike belt driven. He explained that was big reason he went Baretto vs Veneer, Toro or Bandit. Belts slip and can burn. Hydrolic just stops. He said the baretto is built stronger and engine is in center of unit. Easy to service. He's asking 14.000 for it. Their 26.000 new. What's your take on the Baretto and the hours? Thanks for your time

Hey brother. Def no need to order the pulleys/sheaves from Vermeer unless want too. I found NOS ones on fleebay for next to nothing. I forget the brand but the were not Vermeer and they have done me just fine, a few years old already. I think the numbers in the Vermeer book cross pretty easy, or they were on the sheaves, or something, it was easy to figure out.

How many grease zerks on the sc 252, how often do you grease them? Thanks!
@mustangrebuilder
@mustangrebuilder 10 ай бұрын
Try greasing every 2 hours runtime. If bearings are self purging pillow blocks grease till grease comes out the sides, usually around 10 pumps or 2/3rd of an ounce.
