Ah thanks for this Steven......Its SO GREAT to hear Ed's voice talking about his history & how he wrote the stuff isn't it ? ....I never knew Can't get this Stuff No More was meant for Sammy.....I think on Me Wise Magic Dave was working for 3 weeks on the vocals & the Guitar, Drums & bass were recorded very quickly. On that then new one Dave did some vocal parts which were very high for him. Before their bust up Ed even called Dave a 'Trooper' for sticking with it for so long. ...Ed used the TRANS TREM on Me Wise Magic didn't he ?.....& he wrote the music itself to take advantage of that guitars function like he had on Summer Nights back in 1985-1986 ? ....... Imagine if they had gone on to record a whole ALBUM of new VH stuff with DLR on it ? .....The bust up they had was so silly really. Dave got macho angry with Ed for talking about his hip operation through 20 yrs of jumping off drum risers. Dave got angry because he was anxious that by talking about 'hip replacement' it was an operation associated with OLD people & that talking about it was destroying the bands image. Then he was threatening Rude to ED and so Ed just blew his top because he was furious that Dave was trying to play the bully over him again like in the earlier years & in 1996 Ed wasn't going to let DLR get away with THAT.... So Ed just blasted him. If both parties had just STOPPED, CONTROLLED their ANGER for a second & each seen the other's point of view things could have been so different.😔Lovely to hear Ed talk about his creative processes after he had temporarily freed himself from alcohol in the late 1990s. He knew he was chosen & I remember Mozart was on record as saying when he was writing music he felt like something was 'coming through him' like Ed did. So sad that shortly after Ed got the news he had cancer later in 2000 & all the terrible stuff that followed with his health & getting sucked back into the damn alcohol. Back then he was writing great stuff WITHOUT IT wasn't he ? .....& of course it was WOLFGANG that rescued him from all that later during the 2007-2008 tour.....11:40 Careful OVERDUB ....Don't knock things over now. ..lol...My Cats are like that. When I place my guitars horizontal across a sofa they use the neck as a DIVING SPRINGBOARD....lol ...Sorry to hear Arpeggio has gone bless him.

I miss the late night long conversations with Edward and remember Steve beeping in call waiting to talk to Edward about the book greatest hits in 1996 or 97. Edward would say “I got this thing in my head” “and I don’t know how to explain it” I told Edward that’s because your a tone chaser and it stuck I guess. I recall Edward said “I don’t know about greatest hits, , that’s something you do when it’s over uno”

The Fan Halen guy seems to not understand that the "Me Wise Magic" sound doesn't happen if Ed doesn't work with Sammy for a decade. You can hear the difference in the melody that Ed wasn't playing with Dave back in the day. With Sam, Ed experimented with melodies that he would have been butting heads with Dave over.

"Twister" was filmed right outside of Ponca City, OK where my mom was living at the time. My mom was a director so had "access" to the skinny about the Stars who were staying in town. News spread about the filming, of course, because it was a big deal. Helen was not happy with her accommodations, which from all accounts, was the best mansion in the city and so she kind of got a bad rap locally. However, Bill Paxton and the others were very gracious. I have the DVD of that movie and have watched it a gazillion times, but I did not know about VH and "Humans Being" until after Eddie passed. Great song! ❤🤍🖤
