Such a vibe, enjoyed listening to this again, pretty much loved everything Soft Cell ever did and was so sad when they imploded but Marc Almond went on to have such wide and varied career, seen him many, many times and developed into one of the most dynamic and exciting live singers in the UK, loved by many!

John Gatchell's trumpet is outstanding. Cindy Ecstacy (the female vocalist) was their dealer btw.

Soft Cell recorded all of their singles as extended versions and then cut them down to radio time. So I'm truth the extended is the original. Great track. Stand alone single, some copies of their E.P. Non stop estatic dancing. My favorite band

What a wonderful song. I’m a fan of the extended version.Their best pop achievement. For more artistic things, you’ve got to listen theirs albums Art Of Falling Apart or This Last In Sodom.

I've just stumbled on your channel, and I love the fact you're also covering "12 versions of the great Eighties bands, which used to be quite an art form in itself for the British music scene. Soft Sell really were the first act to do Dark Synth, which many other synth bands would follow. You have to remember this was way ahead of bands like Depeche Mode, who were still very upbeat synth pop. Nah, bro, "12 is the best. Same goes for some of Talk Talk's early UK "12s.

Hi Alex ,love your analysis of many great 80s songs .Can you do please review the classics of the 80s from the band O.M.D first one is SOUVENIR and the other is SECRET .You will find this band was one of best synth bands from the 80s.

Non stop erotic cabaret is seen as the first album made on ecstasy. One of my favourite albums from the 80s. Takes me back to soho in west London Everytime I hear it

Only remember Tainted Love. Didn't expect the singer to croon like Muse. Wouldn't mind hearing some other cuts from this Brit sub-genre. I'm a low-key Thompson Twins, Human League fan, but only know a few of each of their tracks.
