I’m seriously obsessed with this movie... I didn’t think I would love it this much

I'm Italian and when I heard the music references in Luca, my mom from the other room almost screamed the lyrics of most of the songs. It was the first time she watched a whole animated movie with me. This movie really has something magical :3

Is anyone else in like… a deep state of mourning over this movie? Though I can go back and watch the movie at any time, I still feel like it’s gone. It was only here for that one day on June 18th, and now all the excitement leading up to that day is gone and it’s just… empty. I miss Luca and I miss Alberto and I miss Giulia and it’s honestly kind of too much. But that’s how you know when a movie is good when it has such an affect on you.

Two people have kissed at midnight and they both know that the beauty of the moment is able to make they fall in love 2:17 is sang by Edoardo Bennato, a great Italian singer. It's in this part of the film because of the friendship between Luca and Alberto, similar to the complicity between the cat and the fox, il gatto e la volpe 5:14 by another Italian singer, is about a boy singing that he was going 100 km/h (very fast) to see his girlfriend, but the vespa broke down during the itinerary and he says: don't worry my love, I'll run as far as you, no stop, just run to see you" 7:44 is fantastic! Finally the Italian music of the 50s / 60s / 70s is appreciated by the whole world. Because they deserve a lot, I wasn't born in these times, but my parents were, and they made me love it. And I'm happy that now many more non-Italian people have discovered them .. Grazie Luca

Reading off the creator's interviews and behind the scenes, one can see just how much love , passion, and heart was put into this film. The fact that Luca is largely based on Mr. Casarosa's own childhood experiences really gave this film its own lovely charm. This isnt just some corporate cashgrab, this movie is literally a love letter. To Italy, To the real Alberto, To Childhood friendships ❤❤❤

THIS MOVIE CAME OUT A MONTH AGO AND I'M STILL THINKING ABOUT IT 😭😭

I feel dumb, one of the reasons I love the movie this much is because of the song Il gatto e la volpe ahahah 🦊 I remember my dad singing it when I was little and we were on summer vacation, spending all the days swimming and imagining to be a sea creature in disguise. And reading the Almanacco di Topolino when it was to hot to go out.

I watched this last night and I can't stop thinking about it. It was so cute and sweet and heartwarming and the ending almost made me cry. The animation and settings were gorgeous too.

Have you ever felt that you've been waiting for this movie for months and finally watched it on June 18. Once it ended you felt like it's gone and you still wish to continue it. Just to make myself clear, I adore this movie especially the song. Simple yet amazing at the same time. Seeing Luca and Alberto's ambiguous fate (Like the epilogue at the end credit arts) I really wanted a sequel ngl, it's like I want them to continue the story. This is the first time I'd ask myself "Why am I so concerned to this movie?" - Is it because it's simple? - Is it because the story is original and it compared to our youthful days? - Or is it because it's Italian? I clearly don't know. I mean I can rewatch the movie at anytime and anywhere, and yes it always brings me hope whenever I start the film. From the moment I finished the movie, it's to the point where I'm happy and downcast at the same time. All in all this movie is one of my favourite Pixar film ever 🇮🇹💙

At first I thought I just spare my time to watch this movie with my kids. Unexpectedly Pixar is always good. This movie is good. The story and the concept is really interesting and not boring at all. Moral of friendship also very good. And lastly the soundtracks were also excellent. I'm impressed 👍

You knew the song is truly great when you don't even understand the lyrics but still keep listening to them over and over again.

This sound track is exactly what I would have expected for a Disney movie focused on Italian culture and I love it. This movie was especially meaningful because my family watched it together after a long day of vacation activities on a warm summer day in 2021. Every time my 3 year old daughter watches this movie I think about that time and look back with fond memories, despite what was going on in the world at the time. Good memories.

Viva la pappa col pomodoro reminds me of old polish song Addio Pomidory, which was my favourite song when I was little :)

Hearing Il gatto e la volpe in the movie, as an italian, made me so happy and nostalgic. I used to listen to that song with a friend of mine in elementary school using a CD player, during the coach rides for school visits/trips.

Ahh. Vintage Italian. So glad Disney finally made Italiano🇮🇹 They made it so cultural you didn't even see red pasta ! We hate red pasta sauce it stains everything !!! So they did PESTO !!! 😂❤ great appreciation to my culture especially the music, their names and even their accents

The last song (Cittá Vuota) is SO DAMN WELL PICKED. It has that chill Italian summery beat, but it's also very melancholic and nostalgic, like saying "I'm happy for what I've lived and I cherish those days... But I'm also kinda sad because they're gone" Perfect choice.

Luca and Onward are the 2 most underrated Pixar/Disney movies in the last ten years or so.

Luca is literally one of the most heart touching movies I've ever seen. I mean, it doesn't even have a sad ending but I still cried for over an hour after finishing it. I think it's mostly because I really did have an "Alberto" in my life and I haven't met her in years after we moved. And I miss her as hell
