I think you guys are over reacting She’s just ok in all seriousness. You guys need to dig in the crates. If she’s setting the bar, then the bar is low. Amy Winehouse deserves some reaction How about Ruth Copeland (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bKt_a7ej3ZfMeWw.htmlsi=wA5yT23e8LKbrfPg) Pay attention to this chorus and wonder why I’m not blown away by Lana or her sound! It's because her most popular songs were released in the same year as Let it go from Frozen. With the popularity Frozen had back then, Lana del ray stood no chance. If she released these same songs any time in the past 5 years, she would had won the awards easily.

She came at a time (2012) where the music industry was full of edm pop and surface level good time mush - but she came along as an indie pop artist that appealed to a wider audience that was saturated by what they heard on the radio. There is some other cultural stuff such as the era of tumblr and the aesthetic that came with her which appealed to so many, but basically she was a unicorn at the right time and has just never really left and stuck to her guns, making music she wanted to make, regardless of the many critics she had early on, influencing a whole new generation of artists such as Billie Eilish and also the queen herself, Taylor Swift

She's originally from Lake Placid, NY located within the northern portion of the Adirondack Park. I live in a nearby town about 40 miles away. The accent up here is considered a variation of the Rochester accent which is a bit different than the Long Island or Manhattan sound most people associated with NY. I dare to say as well that because we are much closer to Quebec, CA than Rochester that we also have some influence from there. Her parents were transplants from Manhattan in 86. Historically, the Adirondacks were settled by a large number of Irish people so you'll find a bit of underlying influence in the accent here from that dialect as well.

I need to see more of your thoughts on Lana, this is such a fun video! As someone who has been obsessed with her music since I was young, the deeper you go, the more there is. I know it's so unlikely to get any from her days singing as Lizzy Grant, before she adopted the stage name Lana Del Rey, but the "eras" (I genuinely don't know what else to call it) of Lana are so distinct, but somehow still come together to form this amazing, and somehow... fluid? (again, what else do you call it?) body of work. She is one of the most under appreciated artists of this generation, and its insane. The IMPACT of her album Born to Die on Pop music alone is still seen in in 2024, more than 10 years after its release. She is an ICON. Edit: Just realized the first sentence sounds pretty demanding, think of it more like Oliver Twist: "Please, can I have some more?"

I think you def need to go through her album in order to but maybe leading up to each you do the songs w music videos then the album they come from. However MOST of her best work is in the body of her albums. The singles are amazing but nothing beats those “deep cuts”

Thank you, thank you, thank you these reactions of Lana. We really need more of this, as you said.

I feel like you should react to a full Album, or maybe live performances like Lana Del Rey - Young and Beautiful (live at MITA Rio de Janeiro 2023)!! Would be very interesting to get your opinion on that.

It's incredible that she did this for "The Great Gatsby", she also did an amazing job in "Maleficent" with "Once upon a dream", her music is so cinematic and athmosferic that it translates into pure art whenever she does a movie song. Omg and "the season of the witch" was also a bang, "Big eyes", "I can fly". I don't understand how she does it, her music is fascinating and unlike anything I've ever heard.

Anyone else want the songs she listens to that she doesn't react to because they're not popular? Cause I DO! React to the art pieces! Gimmie!
