This song is a masterpiece. I don’t say that lightly. The instruments paint the picture and the lyrics flow so well with it. It’s so good.

by my count, if we are getting specific, this is his 6th evolution of his voice, just about a new sound for every album/EP/singles release

I agree it's a different sound but it's all Colter. And evolution is perfect. He is a master at his craft now - away from that raw talent from 7 years ago. Can't wait to see what the coming years bring.

It is Patrick Lyons (pedal steel/dobro/mandolin) and Jake Groves (harmonica) on the instrumentals who are regular pieces in the Scary Prairie Boys.

Colter's sense of place is so forward. A working Cowboy telling the stories of a life foreign to many but somehow relatable. Burt wanting to be the Gabby Hayes to Colter's John Wayne.

Agreed on about the skill coming from the mandolin and steel guitar. It’s top notch. I love in this song, and many like it, that don’t places effects on top of the steel guitar. It’s raw sound is perfect and makes my Mississippi soul happy.

Will help you with some of these references. First It’s pronghorn not fawn horn. Pronghorn are also called antelope. Charlie Russell is a famous western painter know for his cowboy/western scenes. Cody Johnson also references him. Dragging calves to the fire is a reference to branding cattle. You rope the calf and drag him to the branding iron so he can be marked then it’s let loose.

Im a little late here but in addition, pronghorn can’t jump over fences. So that’s why they have to go under the fences if available.

I know this video is from 4 months ago but, you should listen to Evan Honer, he has some popular covers, like Tyler Childers' "Jersey Giant," Zach Bryan's "Something in the Orange." But his own music is also really great, though he doesn't have a whole lot yet.

You should react to his cover of "Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone?" which is from a video studio session during 2021, I think.

New tech and his pure skill, hopefully one that stays true to his sound… first reaction I’ve seen of yours, honest criticism allow more music to play before ya opinion/reaction!!

If I let more than 7 seconds play the video gets blocked. I wish I could!

Love this song. I don’t want to be rude, but you may do better on KZfaq if you don’t stop and talk as often. I enjoy these song reacts because it’s a blend between the music and the KZfaq video creator. Can’t really do that if you stop the song every 5 seconds. Again, not trying to be rude, but the song doesn’t get a chance to vibe when you do that

Pronghorn antelope, very rarely jump over a fence. Rather, they will usually crawl underneath the bottom strand

Anyone who owns a farm or a ranch thinks it’s hilarious that people have this idea that is all animal wrestling and rodeos😂 more like spend half the day getting machinery or equipment ready and the rest of that half doing boring and back breaking bs like picking rocks or milking or planting or tilling or feeding or switching pastures or just fixing shit that’s broken lol
