"we know this boy is from the country, he ain't from Chicago" Funfact, Joe Roegan invited him on his show, and Colter said "I'm on a cattle run as you speak, get back to me in 3 weeks sir" Boy is more country than the ground he steps on.

@@SongwriterReacts I grew up listening to what I call Real Country Johnny Willie Waylon Kris Hank Jr. Mearl because of my Dad. But it was the 90's Country that drove me away from the genre and into Metal and anything Heavy. It wasn't until 3 1/2 yrs ago when I discovered both Colter Wall and Tyler Childers on the same day right after each other that gave me Hope for Country Music again. Please do more of the Old Guard of Country if possible. Thanks for the great work I really enjoyed it

It is rare to find a young artist that understands dynamics, and almost impossible to find one that USES the concept this well. Colter’s genius is on display in this setting. His volume control, phrasing and pacing is beyond impressive. Too many artists wish to fill the void, instead of accentuating it. From the first instant I heard this man, I knew he was the real deal. He has no pretense, and you can tell he grew up in wide open spaces. You are correct, this is no city boy.

@Burt Byler It's a Cree name for the Saskatchewan River, Kisiskatchewanisipi, but was shortened to Saskatchewan. It means swift flowing river. I'm from a different Canadian province, but I do remember learning this in elementary school. Colter's a pretty amazing young talent. I've recently been getting into country music, and last year I discovered Orville Peck; not sure if you know of him or not.

I've been following Colter since he was mostly unknown, it's been amazing to watch his transformation. To put it simply he only gets better with age. He's definitely the pride of Saskatchewan just like his dad Brad who was our premier for 10 years. Great hard working family with true country roots. He's the real deal not like most "new country" artists. Neat Side note... his dad is the owner of Waylon Jennings 1973 El Dorado (he's a huge fan, has Waylon Wednesdays on his social media pages) The media says he found out about its sale from Colter and snapped it up in true Outlaw country style.

I would love a retro 70s style music video to go with this song. Ya know make it look like a 70s director and film crew produced the video. Have them wear 1800’s-early 1900s Appalachian style clothes and props, but the hair is still a little feathered and maybe Kate can make dramatic eye contact with the camera as it zooms in to her face when she’s caught, much like they did in a lot of films in the 70s. Make it look like it was filmed on a gritty old camera with a bit of a yellow tone to it. Or you know how everything had that soft lighting that gave everything a soft edge, thatd be great when he falls in love with her, but then when he’s in his cell, the only light is from a window and pours directly on his face and the lines are crisp. Ooh and the bird sits on the sill and blocks his light, like “there’s no hope for you buddy”. Holy crap I’d die if they did that. I just think it’d serve his aesthetic as an artist better than say the style that lady antebellum uses in their videos, very new, very Nashville. Something about colter wall just reminds me of the wood paneling and shaggy hair we got in the 70s.
