Something I must add is prayer and time listening to the Lord's voice is the foundation of every song! Without looking to God for guidance is like a car without a steering wheel.

I am more of a lyric guy. Than after I have lyrics I will figure out the melody and the chords.

Problem I've found with that is you can have great lyrics but melody is what makes it memorable. Doesn't mean that can't work but I find trying to write lyric together with melody together helps to get great lyrics and melody at the same time. I'd say melody before lyric is better than the other way round generally. Just my opinion.

@@WyclifMurungi Hey thanks for your reply. I clicked on your channel you've got some cool songs! I think now I honestly do write more lyrics and melody together, Either on the Piano or Guitar. Sometimes I'll have a melody in mind when I write lyrics. But yeah I have definitely evolved as a songwriter.

Even with that I still think if I were to write in a group writting setting, I'd probably be the lyric guy.

@@michaelramsey2006 Lyrics are very important especially when it comes to Christian music because truth is what matters most whereas great melodies are needed too to keep people engaged. I do understand that different people also have different strengths so yeah it's good to know that for you, your strength is lyrics when it comes to songwriting. Thank You now I know where to start in terms of melodies and song writing, my actual aim was to see myself in the band so I can gain some knowledge in song writing and film making I always have a passion to pursue thus but the support was not there so am taking this time to say I will look up to every tutorial you post so I can advance my skill in this field...

The background music just takes away from what is being shared. Personally I find it annoying. I'm trying not to be negative but hopefully add something you might think about the next time you do a video like this. Maybe turn it down in the mix.
